Mariah Carey’s Forever Eau de Parfum in the 1.7 ounce spray is a supporter of the Cancer and Careers Foundation. Cancer and Careers is a resource for women with cancer. They offer working women support and information as they work through their treatment. A portion of the Forever Mariah Carey purchase price will go directly to CEW.

Forever, “an opulent floral,” is meant to evoke a feling of “classic Hollywood allure.” The bottle does look as if it came form the dressing table of some iconic beauty like Elizabeth Taylor or Lana Turner.

Top Notes: Radiant – Luxurious accords of Neroli, Lotus Blossom and Dewy Green Apple create a refreshing, distinctive blend capturing Mariah’s sensual appeal.

Mariah Carey’s New Fragrance Forever

Mariah Carey is pretty busy these days. Her movie Precious is coming out soon, she’s got a scheduled appearance planned for VH1’s series Storytellers (love that series!), and her newest album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, drops at the end of September.

September also brings the launch date of Forever, her newest fragrance.

“I am in a wonderful place right now, surrounded by all the things I love, and Forever captures this moment in time,” said the entertainer, whose first scent, M by Mariah Carey, launched in September 2007.

Forever is described as a “modern opulent floral.” It has an opening note of fresh florals and fruit then deepens with a base drydown of wood and musk. Perfumer Olivier Gillotin partnered with Carey for the new fragrance. His intention was for the fragrance to create a feeling of lush, sensual, feminine glamour.

Fragrance notes: Neroli, Lotus Blossom, Green Apple, Tuberose, Gardenia, White Musk, and Exotic Woods

Forever will be available in various sizes Eau de Parfum that will run from $42-$65. In addition, there will be a half ounce Parfum and a body lotion. The fragrance will be available at Macy’s, Dillards, Belks, and other department and specialty stores.

I received a sample of Mariah Carey’s new perfume – M by Mariah Carey GOLD. I recently reviewed her first fragrance and really, it wasn’t bad. It definitely fits her style. The newest incarnation, GOLD, is actually better in my opinion. It’s a blend of Tiare Flower and marshmallow, with an amber and light incense base. It’s more tenacious than I expected, and not a gourmand despite the marshmallow note. The packaging is really the highlight of this scent, though – the purple butterfly has been recast in gold. It’ll retail at Macy’s for $75.00/1.7 oz, but with an “actual value” of $595.00. I’m not sure if that’s due to the limited edition status or supposed collectability of the item, but there you have it.

Mariah Carey Makes “Designer Entrance” at Fragrance Launch

Mariah Carey always knows how to draw a crowd!! Hundreds of fans crowded on the sidewalk outside the Macy’s Herald Square Broadway entrance to catch a glimpse of the superstar as she made her grand entrance for the launch of her debut fragrance, M by Mariah Carey. The M by Mariah Carey fragrance launch had one of the largest fan turnouts at Macy’s to date!

In true Mariah fashion, she made her grand entrance in a Bentley Phantom convertible, flanked by two black SUVs decorated with M by Mariah Carey flags. Mariah stepped out onto a purple “M” carpet surrounded by hundreds of cheering fans armed and ready with cameras in hands! When she entered the store to walk down the purple carpet, she was greeted by members of the Brooklyn Music & Arts Program Drumline playing “It’s Like That” and donning purple M by Mariah Carey t-shirts. Fans were sprawled throughout the store, surrounding each aisle and crowding in the fragrance area trying to get a glimpse of the superstar.

Mariah signed autographs for 200 fans who purchased gift sets then later proceeded to the VIP area for a meet-n-greet and photo opp for 50 fans who purchased an additional fragrance gift set.

I was able to get my hands on a sample of the not-yet-released fragrance, “M” by Mariah Carey. It’s her debut fragrance, and if you want to watch the Macy’s ad for it, you can find that here.

Sometimes (you know when I’m talking about) you really WANT to smell like a rosebud dipped in marshmallow fluff. That’s how I would describe Mariah Carey’s new perfume. It really is something different, like a “Gourmand-Floral. It is not dissimilar to another celeb perfume, Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. But if you love Mariah, and I can see how you might, because her musical talent far surpasses that of any pop starlet these days, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all.

The bottle is also very girly and decorated with a butterfly. Since the ad I found advertises it at Macy’s, I’d look for it there before any other stores.

Sean John’s Unforgivable Woman – now at Sephora!

In true rap mogul style, Sean Combs (Puffy, Puff Daddy, P-Diddy to the rest of you) generated some hype for his new women’s fragrance, Unforgivable Woman, by basically calling out Mariah Carey, J.Lo, and other celeb fragrances. Mariah Carey and Diddy couldn’t really be more different, and he forgets (or doesn’t know) one key thing about women: we LOVE variety. So owning his fragrance doesn’t necessarily mean we wouldn’t like any others. More about Mariah’s fragrance later…

Honestly, the bottle looks like it could contain aftershave or something. And the scent, while sexy, is described somewhat unpleasantly: Unforgivable Woman embodies the essence of sensuality that intoxicates the senses. This delicate blend of bergamot, orange flower, jasmine and coco de mer is captured in a deep rose gold bottle that glistens with femininity. A seductive scent that expresses what it is to be the unforgivable woman.

Orange Flower, Grapefruit, Cyclamen, Violet, Coco de Mar, Iris.

Excuse me while I go glisten with feminity.
