There’s nothing like a gorgeous maxi to get you sighing away! This pretty plus dress in a romantic color combo doesn’t have anything “plus” about it, and since it’s available up to 24, a lot of us can take advantage of this style that looks like something we wouldn’t be able to get in our size. It’s available right now at Nordstrom, and even if you don’t like it, you might be a fan of some of their other plus-size friendly selections.

How “Studio 54″ is this?! This amazing summer gown features an ombre stripe in an unusual color combination of brown, tan, and blue, and it has one of those great shapes in the front that many plus women love when they have a more apple-shaped figure. I can imagine wearing this piece at a BBQ or something similar, and it has that lounge-worthy style that really works for hot weather. I love this dress! It’s amazing, and I never thought I’d be into an ombre stripe.

To be honest with you, I happen to have really “bad” ankles. They happen to get waterlogged, swell up, and they’re of the super thick variety (all hereditary, too!). It doesn’t stop me from wearing my exercise capris and swimwear, but I love the security and support of knee-high boots. I need to get into maxi dresses this season! I found this amazing one from Avenue.com with looped straps–total glamor look–plus a crossover neckline. I think that this piece definitely deserves a place of honor in the old wardrobe, especially because it is knit stretch, and that means you will feel comfy in it even when you’re at one of those super stuffy events that never ends. It’s about 45″ long, so if you are taller, I would definitely wear it with flat dressy sandals.

Oh Maxi dress…it has been a while since I have seen you. I wore a Maxi dress to work yesterday and it felt so nice. They are so comfortable and so stylish these days. You can hardly go a day without catching one celeb or two or three people on the street wearing one of these dresses.

I went shopping this weekend. I picked up a few bright tops and a maxi dress from Old Navy. Not too luxurious, but comfortable nonetheless. When I got home, I thought to myself, now if only I had not shopped so impulsively I could have gone online and bought this James Perse Maxi Sundress instead!
