Wearing fragrance in the warm Summer months can be a very different experience than wearing it in the chill of Winter. There’s something about the mixture of more heat, less clothing, and humidity that truly highlights the sultriness of the season. Here are 5 fragrance wearing tips for women and 5 tips for men.
Women
*Feeling hot and frazzled? Store your lighter-scented body sprays in the fridge, then pull them out when you need a cool refreshing mist.
*Layering is good idea. Start with a scented body wash, then layer on lotion, fragrance, etc, for better staying power.

Aveda Men Pure-formance Grooming Clay

Not enough attention is given to men’s styling products, and they have just as much need for sculpting and hold as we do. (Sometimes actually even more.)
For the man in your medicine cabinet, I highly recommend Aveda Pure-formance Grooming Clay.
Perfect for guy needs (the jar is even dark and manly!), it maintains control and hold without adding shine.
It’s also great for adding thickness to their hair, and has a spicy (ok, sexy…), aroma made of spearmint, vetiver, and lavender.
Ladies, we don’t want our men to smell like guava and vanilla. Let them have their own styling products.

Bold New Fragrance – DKNY Men

DKNY has a new fragrance for men. The name is pretty straight forward – DKNY Men – and it’s billed as “masculine without question.”
Donna Karan’s intent was to develop a fragrance that embodied the sort of man who lives in New York City. When I think of a NYC man, I think bold, busy, focused. I’d say that DKNY Men fits that image. This fragrance hits on the citrus, the spicy, and the woody notes. DKNY Men is no subtle sticking to the background men’s scent.
DKNY Men is also available in a body wash and a soothing after shave gel. …read more

Hugo Boss has a new scent for Spring 2009. HUGO Element was developed for the Urban man – a man who lives and thrives in the city. Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the face of Element, as well as two other Hugo Boss fragrances, explains the appeal of HUGO Element….
“…I think that HUGO Element smells of a particular lifestyle – a very urban lifestyle, where creativity surrounds you in everything that you do, everywhere you go. I like the fact the fragrance is both fresh and spicy whilst the hint of woodiness makes it masculine and elegant.”
I agree that it is both …read more

Daddy Yankee (Ramon Ayala), Reggaeton star of the hit single “Gasolina” has launched a cologne, DY. John Galliano’s new perfume!

John Galliano, bad-boy, rock-star fashion designer is putting his name on a perfume. Like many perfumes, it is inspired by a memory of a particular place and time. This time was no doubt crucial to his formative fashion sense and later successful career. It is available at Harrods for £42. I’m guessing it’s a scent that can be worn by men or women.
Are you a fan of Galliano’s fashions? Will you flock to buy the scent? It certainly sounds interesting.
In fact, it’s a theatrical, but not a melodramatic scent. A powdery mix of iris, rose and violet, with a nostalgic …read more

Zee News reports that Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan will have a new cologne fragrance soon. He mentions that India is very warm, so it will be a fragrance that can compete with the heat and not wither away. His previous perfume was a bit more expensive than most fragrances on the market in India, but due to his stardom is still very popular. I would love if one of my readers in India would report in on either of his fragrances – what do they smell like?
Cologne of the Day: Bois 1920, Sandalo e The

A very fun opening. with a heart of rose and a lovely, dry sandalwood/tea background. Although it’s not mentioned in the notes, the top smells like an herbal/honey mixture that reminds me of honey straws from my childhood. It has a soapy quality that washes over the rose petals and makes it very Mediterranean indeed. I prefer this to most of the “green tea” type scents. A surprise oriental favorite. $160/100ml at Luckyscent.
The sunny and Mediterranean top notes hum with a fresh and fragrant vibration and welcome you with an open invitation to happiness. Sandalo et The floats on …read more
