Oscar De La Renta is always a fashion week favorite. This season’s collection followed along with so many of the other collections of the season, lots of dark metallic colors, animal prints, and even hobo bags which are the it item of the Spring season.

Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2009 runway show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was spectacular. It was full of dazzling colors, couture styles, and great accessories. Here are a few of my favorite styles from the show and what I thought about them.

If you’re job is to report on fashion, as mine is, how do I avoid feeling the strain of bank failures, manufacturing down turns and people losing their homes everyday?
Fashion Week’s last day is tomorrow, February 20, 2009, and I have come to the grim reality that the fashion world is taking note of the down turn in the American Economy.  The fall season is usually time for  bland make-up and stark colors, but  it is everywhere this season. Charlotte Ronson is a relative newcomer to the tents of Bryant Park and Mercedes-Benz fashion week. And where have you heard that name before? She is the older sister of Samantha Ronson, Lindsay Lohan’s current main squeeze. Stars, including LiLo, Gwen Stefani, and Jennifer Love Hewitt have been spotted wearing her clothing.
