Michelle Obama and Those Great Belts

The First Lady, Michelle Obama, has been wearing some amazing wide belts these days – check out this amazing pierced leather one from her recent appearance at a meeting in the White House. Wide belts are a great way to call attention (or to create) a fantastic waistline, and a bold statement piece like hers especially so.
There are lots of interesting wide belts on the market these days, from fabric belts with a Japanese touch to tooled leather belts with some western flair.
If you’d like to try out a pierced leather belt like the first lady’s however, I’d recommend this …read more

Michelle Obama and Her Makeup Artist

When you’re constantly under public scrutiny, there is a certain pressure to be and look appealing. That seems fairly obvious of course, but lately there has been a swirl of attention on Michelle Obama and the makeup artist who travels with her, Ingrid Grimes-Miles.
Having a makeup artist on staff, or at least on call, is fairly typical for people in the spotlight. I think it’s probably safe to say as the first lady, Michelle Obama would be one of those people. But still – times are tough right now and maybe it was a slow news day, which is why …read more

The First Lady – of accessories!

I think that Michelle Obama is going to be the next fashion icon for American women – the next Jackie Kennedy perhaps?

And has even matched her gloves to her shoes – very nicely done in my opinion!

I know there is some controversary out in the fashion world about her outfit, but I think she looks fashionable and elegant – and every inch the First Lady.

Made in the USA

In honor of the inauguration happening today, today’s picks are kitten heel shoes, made in the USA – perfect for the new First Lady!
California Magdesians is a shoe company, based in Los Angeles.  They’ve been creating quality shoes for almost 60 years – all them in the USA.  I think they would make a great choice for Michelle Obama – after all, what’s better than supporting craftspeople in her own country?
“Carole” made from peau fabric (a type of satin) with patent leather accents:

“Liv-R” peep-toes add a touch of sex appeal to the kitten-heel pump:

The sleek black suede bootie “Bert-R” has …read more
