Big Clearance SALE On Bath & Body Items

The Hydrating Complex is a hyaluronic acid rich serum that is added to your regular daily moisturizer to enhance your moisturizing benefits.  I was excited to do a little background research to figure out what hyaluronic acid is all about!

Hyaluronic acid has been a hot ingredient in skin care products lately because of its connection to long life spans.  Connie Chung did an investigative news story in 2000 about a Japanese village called Yuzurihara that became known as “the village of long life.”  The agelessness of these Japanese villagers became attributed to the large amount of hyaluronic acid in their diet.  Hyaluronic acid is a water-gelling molecule that cushions and lubricates in connective tissue.  When used as a topical serum, it is intended to help maintain skin elasticity.

The SkinMedica Hydrating Complex is great because it allows you to add to the moisturizer that you are already using.  You apply the serum after applying your moisturizer and you get the added hyaluronic benefits.  I have only been using it for a couple days so I can’t attest to its ability to give me a more youthful appearance, but I do love how it adds more nutrients to my regular skin care routine.

Hyaluronic Acid Boosts Your Moisturizer

In addition to the botanical extracts of lemon, honey and coriander, the Citron, Honey & Coriander Hand Recovery contains a blend of nine emollients, including over 35% Macadamia Nut Oil, Palm and Shea Butters, to help condition even the driest of hands. It’s recommended that you use it two to three times a week on clean, dry hands. Be sure to massage it well into the front and backs of your hands, then rinse with water. It’s $20.00 for 3.5 oz.

Either the Scrub Cleanser or the Cream Cleanser should be used before the Hand Remedy. These products each come in an 8.5 oz pump priced at $12.00. Citron, Honey & Coriander Hand Therapy

This August Olay launched a new product line called Complete Ageless that “helps to give more ageless looking skin in five days.”   The entire line is enriched with green tea and ginko extracts to promote healthy skin surface renewal processes and reduce the appearance of facial lines and visible pores.  My favorite product was the Olay Complete Ageless Skin Renewing UV Lotion.  Just like the reliable Olay products that I have been using for years, the lotion was light and moisturizing.  The lotion has SPF 20, which is extremely difficult to find in a daily moisturizer.  With the increased knowledge about the dangers of sun damage, it’s wonderful to find a product with a high SPF that isn’t greasy.  This lotion provides the protection that most sunscreens do, but it feels just like a light facial moisturizer!

The UV Lotion pairs well with the Olay Complete Ageless Rejuvenating Lathering Cleanser and Eye Brightening Cream to complete your entire skincare routine.  The Lathering Cleanser has micro-beads for a light daily exfoliation, which should always be your first step in the morning to remove dead skin cells.  (I’ll post later this month about the importance of exfoliation!)  I am a big fan of lathering cleansers because you really feel like they are soaping you up and getting the dirt off!  The Eye Brightening Cream is a thicker moisturizing cream, which is good for the delicate skin around the eyes.  This is typically one of the first areas to show signs of aging, so it’s important to take special care of this area.

Philosophy Divine Illumination is their skin illuminating anti-aging moisturizer. It’s formulated to fade dark spots, hydrate, smooth and even out your skin tone. There are also firming and anti-wrinkle benefits. This would be a great product to try if you have age spots and feel your skin needs a little more ‘help’ than what you’re current moisturizer is doing.  I didn’t pick it up this weekend but I’m definitely intrigued about it.  The Divine Illumination moisturizer is $85 for a 1.6oz size jar.
