How about a necklace that can be turned into multiple looks – or even worn as a belt or bracelet?

Then you’re definitely going to want to check out Twisted Silver’s latest necklace and matching earrings – the Esmerelda.

Esmerelda is a combination of antiqued silver chain, the signature “Twisted” medallions and lots of feminine details like pearls, faceted crystals and a delicate crystal rondelle.  The necklace is a generous 62 inches long – which means you can wear it as one long lariat or wrap it into a shorter look.

My favorite way to wear it so far is to wrap it twice around my neck and use the clasp to link the two layers of chains together.  It keeps the wraps from shifting or tightening and is very comfortable.   It can also be wrapped three or even four times around your neck to create a layered bib necklace or choker.  The Esmerelda is even long enough to be worn as a delicate belt, or wrapped lots of times around your wrist to create a cuff bracelet.

Okay, so the matching earrings don’t have the same flexibility (would you really want earrings that can be worn as a belt though… didn’t think so!), but they provide a gorgeous accent to the necklace:

They’re made with four layers of the same antiqued silver chain and matching beads & pearls as the necklace.  The earrings are lightweight and comfortable to wear – even with all of the lovely accents!

Get Twisted With Esmerelda!

If you are, then you’re definitely going to want to check out the new line of jewelry and charms from designer Gina Cartwright.  Her collection is called “Charmed Circle” and includes some great pieces.

The charms are made from a combination of sterling silver, gold and semi-precious stones.  As well as charms, Charmed Circle also creates unique bracelets to hang your charms from.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces from their collection:

The birdcage charm is a little gilded cage – complete with a tiny bluebird inside.  The bird has crystal eyes and the cage door even opens and closes!

Write a love letter to someone special (or keep it for yourself) with these engraved crystal or semi-precious stone hearts, letters or symbols.  The stones have been embellished with 22kt gold and accented with a small diamond.

This sleek bangle bracelet definitely a different way to wear your charms – and is available in both sterling silver and 18kt gold plate (charm not included).

Lovely Charms by Charmed Circle

This Wednesday is Remembrance Day or Veteran’s Day, depending on where you live.  In Canada and England, red poppies are worn to remember those who lost their lives in the different wars.

While these poppies aren’t the ones that are traditionally worn, I think it’s still appropriate to wear them in memory.

This felted poppy necklace is by AVA Original Felted Art and is made using merino wool.  It’s adjustable, depending on how many times you wrap the “stem” around your neck.

These delicate earrings are made using glass bells, flowers and beads, on sterling silver hoops by Canadian jewelry designer Amanda Mackay.

Eight Seasons created this unique wristlet using layers of red leather, shaped to created little flowers, on a base of cream-colored leather.

New Phatty Necklace from Twisted Silver

Then you’re definitely going to want to check out this unique jewelry!

During the 2007 restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s modern masterpiece—the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, pieces of the museum were saved.  The Gunite or concrete crumbles have been set into resin and made into jewelry.  Jewelry designer Cara Tilker has designed the unique suite of jewelry, for both women and men.

Each piece of jewelry contains an original piece of the museum, finished with sterling silver to make a modern and very wearable piece of jewelry.  The resin must be poured by hand into molds, and then each piece of concrete set into it.

You can view the complete collection online in the Guggenheim Museum store, but here are a couple of my favorites:

Jules Smith has a collection of jewelry inspired by part two of the Twilight saga, New Moon.

The jewelry features some seriously pointy teeth and has been showing up all over the place on celebrities and in style features.

Jewelry With Teeth – Vampire Style

B-Side Jewelry, the offspring of a design duo Ken Leung and Dana Chin, have translated street graffiti into quirky and interesting, but highly wearable necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings — and even tie clips and cufflinks.

While some pieces, such as their handcuff bracelets (which are exactly what they sound like), won’t work in 99 percent of offices across America, just think of what others — including this gorgeous red-brass chain necklace — could do to enliven an all-black outfit or plain jane dress.
