Wow I just fell in love. I was snooping around on flashsale websites to see if I could find any affordable jewelry to spice up my Fall basics, and I stumbled upon this AMAZING jewelry collection from new designers Marquis & Camus. Marquis & Camus was started by recent Parsons School of Design alum Sarah Kang. She loves to mix old with new by incorporating found and vintage pieces into her modern pieces. I would get them fast because I think this line is going to be too hot to get in the future…

Tory Burch to Launch Eyewear Collection

In only five years I have watched Tory Burch explode as a designer. In 2004 she debuted with her colorful patterned tunic dresses, and now you can find her recognizable logo on everything from boots to handbags to jewelry. To continue to expand Tory Burch as a lifestyle brand, in October Tory Burch will be debuting a first ever eyewear collection. I have images from the collection to share with you before the designs have been released to the public!

The Tory Burch eyewear collection fits in with styles that are fashionable today with modern takes on classic vintage styles. Tory was inspired by old photos of her parents travelling in the 60s, 70s, and 80s to exotic locations like Greece, Morocco, and Istanbul. She used classic looks from icons like James Dean, Peter Fonda, Steve McQueen, and Faye Dunaway.

Tory brings her great sense of style to all of her lines, so I expect that this new eyewear collection will instantly be a hit among women who are already loving her clothes and accessories. To complete your entire Tory Burch outfit, the sunglasses will pair perfectly with the Tory Burch tunic dress, Reva ballet flats, and oversized tote that you already have in your closet.

Silk Chiffon Gown by Agnieszka Swiatly

I just recently found out about this amazing Polish designer, Agnieszka Swiatly, and now I’m totally obsessed. This gown is not technically a wedding gown, but it fits the bill beautifully, is custom made to your specifications, and is only $299!

The intricate pleating on the gown is gorgeous and flattering, and I love the asymmetrical lace appliqués. The silhouette is a simple column, brought in by a structured waistband. I think that this is the perfect gown for a sophisticated, modern bride who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money, but wants something totally one-of-a-kind. The Future Has Begun Dress by Desira Pesta

Oh, Desira, you’ve done it, again…In case y’all haven’t been paying attention, Desira Pesta is one of my absolute favorite designers on the indie front, and she’s coming out with some new stuff that is completely crazy. This dress is dead sexy and once twice three times a lady, and if I was ten years younger, I would probably wear it everywhere, including to the corner store for a soda pop. Check it:

But this dress deserves something way better than diet coke to accompany it. Champagne, anyone? Anyways, the dress is silk chiffon and velvet, and while Pesta’s choice of textures is totally on trend (velvet and sheer fabrics, check), the way she uses them is so not played out. I love the grecian draping of the top with its ruffly little straps and the super sexy little skirt. And the color is hand down perfection. Made to order for $275 by Desira Pesta.

Whoa, I just found this great Polish designer and I totally have to share. She uses a really unusually combination of materials; latex, shantung silk, grosgrain ribbon and painstaking draping to create unique pieces that are modern, feminine, and a little bit out there. Just the way I like stuff!

I’m really blown away by this silk and latex dress. It’s one part grecian goddess, one part dominatrix, and still somehow totally wearable. This isn’t really a shape that I would have known in advance that I would like, as the volume around the hips is pretty heavy, but the skinniness of the latex below balances the whole thing out.

This gown is so fluid and elegant, it’s just begging to be taken someplace special. I’m not usually a fan of such billowy styles, but the sheen on the fabric looks so seamless and unbroken that I really get why she didn’t want to break up the lines of the dress.

This pencil skirt is so luxurious, I really can’t believe that it’s only $70. The detail work along the waistband is extraordinary!

Do you consider yourself a handbag addict? Or maybe a handbag aficionado? Have you heard of the independent label called Bagslag? Bagslag was created in 2003 by clothing and accessories designer, Lee Sylvester. She creates cute and quirky bags designed for “women who want something different”. If you’re a shameless handbag addict, these bags might be just be perfect for you!

One of the bags from the Bagslag collection is called the Iris Messenger Bag ($78 USD). The design of this leather messenger bag is very edgy. It rectangular in shape, measuring a generous 15″ high by 11″ wide and features a diagonal zipper design all around the bag. The zipper aids to fully open the bag to fit whatever you need. There’s an adjustable leather strap for easy carrying. Inside it’s lined in hot pink taffeta and features a zip pocket for your gadgets and other necessities.

Do you like the Iris bag? There are a few more quirky bags available on the Bagslag website. Here’s a little trivia for you. According to the (infamous) Urban Dictionary, the term bag slag describes a woman who will fight to the death for a handbag made from exotic animal skin. Not exactly the same thing as the brand but it’s close.

Was browsing the coolest site today. The site is called unsungdesigners.com, and it features “emerging indie designers from all over the world.”

I especially liked these pieces from AngelRox for their beauty, simplicity, and versatility. (All of these pictures link to the same page — they just show the skirt/dress in a different color and with different tops.)

You can see in the first photo how the bottom piece can be worn either as a skirt or as a strapless dress. The halter top can also be worn in a variety of ways. I like it when designs are esthetic as well as smart, and these designs are both.
