Makeup How-to: Shine Over!

By Guest Blogger Sidory Dan-Perry
Shine, shine, oh why do we shine all the time? I hear this so much from my clients. They ask, “How do I control this?” Proper skincare products are a must but for a quick easy fix there is M·A·C Cosmetics “Matte.”
It’s a cream based product that is much more than an anti-shine. It works as a primer, creating a smooth finish to your foundation. In addition, apply it to your eyelids and it helps increase the longevity of your eye shadow.
How to use:
This product can be used before and after makeup application. But for the …read more

DERMAdoctor Ain’t Misbehavin’ For Oily Skin

You already know how important sunscreen is for your skin. I don’t have to tell you that. But if your skin tends to be on the oily side, you may be panicking (just a little) over how you are going to find a sunscreen that doesn’t cause your skin to break out from thick, heavy oil formulas.
I have this skin and I can say honesty there have been times where it has been tempting to pass on sunscreen just because I don’t want to wreck the rare moment where my skin is working for me. But…I know that’s not the …read more

Knowing Your Skin Type Can Save Money

Are you using the right cleansers, toners and scrubs? Do you really know your skin type? If you don’t, do you know that you could be exacerbating any existing skin conditions simply by using the wrong products?
A study completed by the University of Miami Cosmetic Center found that a whopping 80% of people assess their skin type completely incorrectly, which means that you’re likely choosing the wrong skin care products. Maybe you don’t even need to use some of the products you’re consistently buying.
Many people underestimate exactly how oily their skin is, and tend to think they have dry skin. …read more
