Okay, so, no one actually makes vision boards anymore. They probably all use photoshop or some other computer collager, like I did. In any case, the idea is to find what you are looking for by defining it. This is what I am looking for in a wedding ensemble:

As far as shopping checklists go, it’s pretty abstract, but putting it together made me feel like I know what I’m looking for, and since i only have a few weeks, really, that’s definitely important.

How To Propose | A True Story

Say the man of your dreams took you out on a leisurely bike ride. Nothing unusual, happens all the time. Say you ended up perched on the levee of the great Mississippi River, holding hands, and shielding your faces from the cold wind with the hoods of your sweatshirts. It might start to get really cold, and you might start to complain a little. “Sweetie, I’m freezing!” You might wonder why he dawdled. But, then, right before the cold sunset turned unbearably frigid, suppose he pulled out a blue box with a white bow, and said, “Can I ask you a question?” What would you say?

I said, “YES”.

And that was how I celebrated this holiday weekend.

Jane’s Wedding Dress: The Caroline by Charsa

This May, my boyfriend’s best friend, Jane, will be tying the knot in Florence, Massachusetts. Knowing Jane, I guessed that she would not be having a super formal, black-tie affair, which has left me really confused about what to wear to the wedding myself. I decided that only way to figure out what to wear to a not-so-formal formal event was to figure out what everyone else is wearing, first. So, I have been trying to pry all the details out of Jane. (Thanks, Jane, for being so helpful!) This is her wedding dress:

The Caroline by Charsa is a tea-length boat neck in silk duponi with a simple a-line silohouette. I love the spare and elegant design of the front, and the surprisingly dramatic deep v-back, which Jane has personalized with hot pink buttons. I don’t have a picture of Jane’s dress in particular, but I’m sure you can imagine the effect of the hot pink detail against the delicate ivory. Ooh la la, indeed.

While this is technically a bridesmaid’s dress, I think it is the perfect choice for a woman, like Jane, who isn’t interested in being too “bridesy”, but still wants an elegant, heirloom-worthy item. And at under $500, it really is a steal. The Caroline is available in a range of sizes from Charsa.Â

Hello all! My name is Tracey, and I am very excited to be the new hostess here on Just A Formality. Kori did an amazing job of building the blog into what it is today, and I am delighted to follow in her footsteps.
