OPI is one of my favorite brands of nail polish. I use it almost exclusively (outside some experimenting here and there). Earlier this year, they created the Digital Diva collection of Sephora by OPI nail color. This exclusive set of colors is available only for Sephora. And though it was originally out for spring, these high-voltage shades are really hot for summertime.

If you have never thought of wearing colors like neon orange or bright yellow, give these a look. These modern hues have a retro flavor that you’ll really love. Check out the six shades in the Diva Collectionat Sephora.com. Priced at just $9 each, they are fun to try out.

Though these bright colors might not be your everyday nail polish, they are fabulous choices for a summer party. My personal favorite is the Access 24/7, which is a magenta pink.

Home Manicure: How To

Here are the steps to the perfect home manicure.

Shape nails with a nail file and in one direction. Never file back and forth as that weakens the nail and can cause peeling.
Nail File Suggestion: Burton’s Crystal Nail Files

Buff the surface of the nails lightly with a buffing tool to smooth ridges and add shine.
Buffer suggestion: Sally Hansen Ridge Reducer & Buffer

Soak fingers of one hand in a bowl of warm soapy water for about 5 minutes then pat away excess moisture.

Push cuticles back very gently with a cuticle pusher.
Cuticle Pusher Suggestion: Tweezerman Pushy with Nail Cleaner

Massage hands with an exfoliating scrub. Rinse and pat dry.
Scrub Suggestion: One Minute Manicure Spa Treatment Moisture Scrub

Massage cuticle oil into the cuticles and then with a rich hand cream.
Cuticle Oil Suggestion: Avoplex Cuticle Oil to Go from OPI
Hand Cream Suggestion: Biotherm Biomains Age Delaying Hand and Nail Treatment

Swipe nail surface with a polish remover-soaked cotton pad to remove cream residue.

Apply a thin coat of base coat, which prevents staining of some polishes and makes your polish last longer.
Base Coat Recommendation: OPI Start-to-Finish

Add a coat of polish, allow to dry and apply a second coat.
Polish Recommendations: Maybelline Salon Expert Nail Colour, Nars Nail Polish, Dior Rouge Nail Enamel

Finish with a layer of top coat to add shine and protect polish from chipping.
Top Coat Recommendation: Essie Everyday Top Coat

Quick Home Pedicure: How To

As the weather gets colder and colder, I am going to want to go out of the house less and less. Now my toes might require a little love and attention but there is no way that I will be venturing outside and taking the subway downtown to a spa. I think I’ll do a quick and simple pedi right at home as I watch my fantastic Thursday shows – CSI Las Vegas, Greys Anatomy and Shark.

If you think that this winter you too won’t be heading to the spa, take 20 minutes to refresh your feet. Here is what you’ll need:
Large bowl with warm water
Foot or Body Scrub
Body Lotion
Nail Polish
Towel

Step #1: Start by letting your feet soak in the water for a few minutes.

Step #2: Apply a foot scrub to polish away rough skin . Apply in a circular motion onto the feet, beginning at the heel and moving down toward the toes. Rinse. Dry Feet.

Step #3: Massage moisturiser onto feet using a circular motion, until fully absorbed to soothe tired, dry feet.

Step #4: Apply favorite polish.

Step #5: Finally, relax and enjoy your new nails!
