The silhouette on these pants is completely insane. They have that classic pleated paper bag top, but with an exagerrated wide leg that kills me. Check it.

The sheen on the linen is gorgeous. You could really dress these up with a shiny top like they’ve done, but you could also rock them with a wifebeater and some brightly colored skimmers. The tailoring looks really top notch, and the label gets rave reviews. Of course, I can’t make any personal promises without holding them in my hands, but these trousers look seriously upmarket for the price. And, to top it all off, they company is family run. Old Navy Must-Have Yoga Pants

I found this great Old Navy pair of pants over in their clearance section, and I thought I might alert you to the deal! These trousers are available in a great stretchy fabric from 1-4X, and you can’t beat the price. Even though plus women + stretch pants has a sort of stigma, you can see quite clearly that they are ultra flattering (yes, even from the back)!

I basically live in pants like this when I am at home, and I’ve managed to dress them up enough so that nobody learns my secret. I get vintage caftans at flea markets and cute short-sleeved hoodies to dress up my black stretch pants, and let me tell you– these are keepers.

You can toss these right in the wash after you wear them, and they’re made up of a movement-friendly cotton/spandex blend. Fold-over elasticized waistband for comfort and style!

There’s basically nothing more summer chic than striped pants. Seersucker, linen, cotton, whatever. They just need to have that sun-faded relaxed look that works for afternoon picnics and Sunday strolls. They always look nautical, even 1,00o miles from the ocean, so if you happen to live 1,000 miles from the ocean, here’s a way to bring the beach to you.

I don’t particularly love the frayed cuffs, and I have questions about the look of the waistband, but overall, I love the shape of these French loungers by Go Monkey. The wide trouser legs are breezy, comfortable, and flattering, and the stripes are perfect for conjuring up seaside fantasies. Available for $60 from Go Monkey Design.

My Fave New Pants!

When you’re plus-sized, those fold down athletic waistbands can be really problematic. While you might think they look super comfy, they “cut you in half” by squeezing your stomach and generally make things not so pretty (especially if you’re going for a smooth look for the gym!).

I found these new palazzo pants from SWAK Designs, and I think that they’re just perfect. They have a high, extremely wide waistband that can be pulled up high over your stomach to reduce the “roll factor” or folded down if you prefer.

I know how many of you feel about palazzo pants, but these aren’t just palazzos: they are wide-legged wonders and are pretty soft. While I’m particularly impressed with the waistband, I think that these pants’ natural, wide-legged look is a nice change from the usual “swingy” thing.

Angela Johnson just released her new fall line and these hammertime pants are part of it.

OK, they’re a little tricky. They’re kinda slouchy and they could look terrible. But they could also be awesome. Slim shirt, something that’ll work out with slouchy stuff.

I’m loving the Katie Holmes gigantic wide-leg pants thing lately. Which is a little strange, since I’m almost exclusively a straight-leg girl. My new wide-legs are at the tailor. Maybe they’ll change my life.

But if I were Katie Holmes, I’d look pretty hot (even with the scientology thing) in these pants. ($215)
