The Paul & Joe Spring / Summer 2010 collection was a surprising change from the flashy metallic and over the top lines that have been shown over the past few days in Paris. The collection, which stays true to the understated color but yet still flamboyant styles, was fabulous. Sophia Albou designed great staple pieces, including the trousers and blouses but the pieces I was drawn to included the over the shoulder handbags, the flowy skirts, and the subtle beauty of the models. Here’s a sneak peak at what you’ll see come 2010…

Karl Lagerfeld, Rihanna, Lily Allen, and many more made a stop at the Chanel Spring / Summer 2010 “runway” today. The show was not typical of many of the other shows we’ve seen so far this season. Lily Allen (who actually recently announced she was retiring from the music industry soon) performed for the audience who watched the classically inspired looks grace the park like setting.
Everyone needs a little black dress in their closet and we all also need Chanel in our closet. Let’s combine the two and throw in a bit of tweed. Then we’ll get this stunning flouncy …read more

It was announced earlier this year that Lindsay Lohan would join the Emanuel Ungaro team as a “artistic adviser.” There have been signs that she her relationship with the organization was on the outs a few weeks ago at New York Fashion week. However, things have made a turn for the better, she’s been spotted in Singapore, and now in Paris to be with the house of fashion.
Today, the action was at the Ungaro flagship store in Paris where she was most likely getting ready for the Spring / Summer 2010 show that will reveal her first “artistic” advising.

Dior Goes Retro: Paris Fashion Week S/S 10

So far the runways of Paris Fashion Week have given us military, avant guard, Indian, and even a bit of the Amish. Today, the models of the Dior Spring / Summer 2010 collection reminded us of old Hollywood.
The dresses were reminiscent of the film noir age. Fashion inspired by film noir has never quite gone away, but it’s been more of a niche than it’s been a segment. Hopefully with fabulous designs such as those of the Spring / Summer 2010 Dior collection it will go mainstream.
Check out the bright colors of the structured dresses, the immaculate construction of the …read more

I’ve only been to Ikea once. Once was enough, it’s love. I own a Hopen bed, a duvet cover, a lamp, and some other knickknacks from the store. I appreciate the modern and sensible style of the store, when applied the right way. The wrong way to apply the Ikea style – on the Spring / Summer 2010 runway in Paris.
Lie Sang Bong embraced the Ikea style in all the wrong ways today in Paris. I think I’ve seen this bowl at Ikea. I would put some fruit, some beads, or some jewelry for safe keeping in it. But, not …read more
The Shoes of Milan & Paris S/S 10

Watching the runways isn’t always about the dresses, the pants, or the tops. Designers work a whole heck of a lot of time on their accessories. The hats, the handbags, the hair, and of course shoes are all of the utmost importance. Just like in the real world, the accessories make the outfit. If a girl hits the runway in horrible shoes and a micro mini we’re going to be talking about those horrible shoes, right?
The past few days the shoes have been amazing. From metallic flats the suede five inch heels, shoes really made the outfits pop in Milan …read more
