Fun & Stylish Shoes for Her

Shoes are just one of the ways to a fashionista’s heart. A fashionista can’t have too many shoes (or handbags for that matter!) so why not get someone you love a new pair of fun and fashionable shoes for their birthday or just because? Treat your Cinderella to these irresistible shoes.
What fashionista wouldn’t love a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes?  These Tigresse – Zebra platform espadrilles ($595 at Barneys) are perfect for summer. They’d be a great accent shoe for an otherwise simple outfit. Let the shoes do the talking and the walking!  They’re made of pony hair and feature …read more

Sky-high platforms & playful embellishments

Heavily embellished shoes are popping up all over the runways during Milan Fashion Week.
Dsquared2 presented shoes that seem to have their own jewelry – complete with rhinestones, chains and beaded “necklaces”:

Dsquared2 also had fun with leopard print:

I have to admit, I do like the contrast between the animal print and the bold sky blue piping…
At first glance, I thought that Dolce & Gabbana had accented their platform wedges with buttons (very Coraline), but I took a close look and discovered that the shoes are covered with embroidery and little fabric circles:

And then I took another look.
Those are fabric ruffles down …read more

Christian Louboutin at the Grammys

Christian Louboutin’s iconic red sole Mary Jane platforms showed up on the red carpet once again at the Grammy Awards:
var iamInit = function() {try{initIamServingHandler(320,320,592842,”http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/Resources/Css/css2.css”)}catch(ex){}}()
Even though the black satin Loubies seem to get the most runway time – there are tons of other options.  Why not rock some sexy leopard print slingbacks?

Or lose the platform, but still go with something outrageously feminine (”Petal” sandals)?

How about even trying some different colors (”Armadillo” striped satin d’orsay)

Want them to watch you walk away?

Check out these outrageously gorgeous “Carmen” high heeled peep-toe platform shoes from Christian Dior:

But, wait a minute – turn around and check out the heel!

Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Of course, it’s completely impractical for winter in my neck of the woods, while we’re suffering through a deep freeze…   But, come on, don’t those shoes just make you smile?

are these shoes for Hallowe’en?

I’m not sure why these shoes scare me so much:

After all, they’ve got two of summer’s hot trends for shoes; cork soles & peep-toes
Lets hope the Manolo is correct and we’re done with platforms for another 20 years!

I thought it might be fun to share a few gems from Saks Fifth Avenue’s online catalog, since we can’t all go to their new shoe department

This is the Christian Louboutin Cork Platform Pump from his 2007 “Resort” collection.

Steve Madden Platforms to the rescue

You can pretty much depend on Steve Madden coming up with something comfortable and fashionable and this pair looks as if it will deliver on both! Did you notice the peek-a-boo area of the shoe. It’s large enough to prevent rubbing on your toes.
