Silhouettes’ boots are a lot roomier this season than last. I have some pairs in my closet that barely zipped from ‘08, and then the pair I tried on left room around my calves in a way I never imagined possible! There’s enough space for any thickness of denim or winter wool trousers, any pair of awesome tights… you get the picture. Boots are a great look for fall.  There are slouchy boots, tall equestrian-style boots – even cute little ankle boots – perfect for pairing with a great pair of jeans.
But for those of us with generous calves, boot shopping can be a real challenge.
You can sometimes get a boot repair person to add an elastic gusset to the inside of the shaft.  Of course, if you can’t try the boot on before you buy it, that makes things all the more challenging.
