eShakti Cuts Down Your Wait Time

It’s no secret that I adore eShakti, and I received some very good news from them recently. They’ve miraculously managed to decrease their wait time post-order from 5 days down to 3, and that means your plus pieces will be arriving even faster than before!

If you’re not familiar with eShakti, let me just tell you that their pieces make an amazing difference in the plus-size wardrobe. Your jeans look much perkier with an embroidered tee, their jersey tanks are great to layer underneath hoodies and cardigans, and so many of their pieces expand our expectations of what affordable plus labels can offer us. They also do custom fits for a nominal fee, so nobody will be left out.

Black Wrap Dress from Alfani

This Alfani dress is just amazing! I love it, and it’s size 1X-3X–awesome. I have a feeling that the sizing can move either way in one direction either way, so it’s pretty generous. Throw it in the wash when you need to, and I know that it will be perfectly fine without stretching out horribly.

The shape of this particular piece is pretty simple and short, with a 3/4 sleeve and an above-knee length. It’s just the right combination for tights and tall boots, so you can show just a peek of patterns in herringbone and opaque. The dress’s v-neck dips down and wraps nicely, and the band keeps everything in place just perfectly. With a little stretch, we’re in business! I can finally replace that Dorothy Perkins wrap dress I have had since 2004. Joy!

Plus-Size Miami Dress Sale Date Changed

If you remember me mentioning the plus-size Miami dress sale date, I wanted to let you know that I just got a note in the mail that the date has changed! It has now been rescheduled to coincide with the Design District Art Walk, which is a fun Miami Event as well. I know that I received emails that people were buying plane tickets to head out, so here’s the updated info.

Did you know that you can shop through Shopstyle for plus sizes? All you need to do is head on there, type “plus size dress” or “plus size blouse,” for example, to get results from Saks, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Talbots, Target, Catherines, Torrid, and more! Don’t take offense to the maternity picks sprinkled in there; I deal with it as an annoyance that definitely doesn’t outweigh the positives.

Old Navy calls this dress “effortlessly sophisticated,” and I am inclined to agree: available in both pink and blue, it’s available from size 16 and combines a buttoned-up silhouette with something much more comfortable. It’s like one of the most stylish shirt dresses you’ll ever wear. . . but with shape this time.

If we’re going to splash out on a few dresses for spring, why not make them them well-fitting and affordable? Say it with me: no more trapeze-style dresses! I think I’m going to buy mine in that vibrant pink color, and add a pair of jeweled sandals. . . and maybe a straw hat if I’m feeling daring.

Alice & Trixie is my total new great love. They’ve got this outstanding collection of bright tops that all of the sudden have me thinking that yes… maybe I will go straight back to my kimono tops! These ones look too tasty to pass up, and the color combos are a little more unusual than what we’ve been seeing in a lot of the other shops.

My personal favorite is the Cassandra Drawstring Dress, which is stretch silk and available with a simple, sweet neckline. What’s their secret for getting it to look so good? I adore this Cassandra dress.

A little thrilling pick me up for you all. . . eDressMe has plus sizes! I was thrilled when doing my usual scan to see dresses in chiffon, ruffles, and lace– in all the colors of the rainbow. While they are essentially top picks from Kiyonna, Monif C., and a few house surprises, it’s worth a peek if you need a concentrated shopping experience. Get over there when you need a little dressy something and you have no time!
