When fall/winter rolls around, I always start stocking up on the dark denim. From jeggings to skinnies, I like my denim really tight–I feel like it’s super slimming when it’s in deep, deep indigo or black. Plus, my tight jeans are a lot more likely to fit inside my wide-calf boots, which don’t feel so wide once I squeeze my calves inside!

I’m still on the search for plus-size jeans, and I love these trouser ones I picked up over at Old Navy. Oddly enough, I was first attracted to the stonewashed style (which is extremely unusual for me), but I simply had to grab the dark ones after re-evaluating my closet.

I really feel for anyone over 40 or 45 who is shopping for jeans. Choices are far from plentiful, and sizing pitiful at best. I’ve been following Not Your Daughter’s Jeans for a while, and I thought that this pair is a good solution for avoiding the “mom jeans” issue.

My favorite pair of jeans for the past year has been a pair of overdyed Xhilaration jeans from Target. When I bought them (at a thrift store), I just loved the way they stretched, and I didn’t care where they came from. Now that I looked at the tag, I thought I would spread the word that I have seen them in sizes 15 and 17 (this featured pair goes up to 15), and they are really worth it.
