Pleated Silky Plus Bridal Gown

I headed out to Fashion Bug today and saw what they have to offer for bridal wear. . . I think that their dresses have such an awesome price point that they just can’t be missed! While the looks aren’t for everyone, they do have more casual looks in a variety of silhouettes to suit multiple shapes.
Isn’t this one so Marilyn Monroe? It’s great for a low-key wedding with an edge, and requires very minimal accessories to make it work. Yummy! It almost makes me wish I were a bride again, so I could hunt out more bargains.

Whee! I’m Back at Alloy

This Printed Eyelet Halter is one I found over at Alloy, and it has raw-edged bra cups in cotton that are decidedly not so plus-size looking. (Finally!) Slip this on with a great push-up bra and a filmy shrug, which is sexy and temperature-friendly. I think I’ll wear mine with jeans, but I know it’ll look cool with a tight, high pencil skirt, tucked in and voluminous, or some nice camping shorts in tan or green. Flats are welcome!
It’s under $30 up to size XXXL!

Next Maxi Dress On My List

I need to get into maxi dresses this season! I found this amazing one from Avenue.com with looped straps–total glamor look–plus a crossover neckline. I think that this piece definitely deserves a place of honor in the old wardrobe, especially because it is knit stretch, and that means you will feel comfy in it even when you’re at one of those super stuffy events that never ends. It’s about 45″ long, so if you are taller, I would definitely wear it with flat dressy sandals.
Check it out: up to size 28 and $52.90 is not too bad.

Great Top for Apple Shapes

Need to hide an apple tummy? This genius tie-waist top in red and white has an easy shape that comes complete with a smocked keyhole neckline for a subtle flash of skin. The elastic banded waistline will stand well-anchored on those jeans and will keep far away from that awkward “ride up” that happens all too often. Grab it in a size up if you have wider hips to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions, and smile! Any mini-belly you have is entirely disguised by this clever fit.
Head to Fashion Bug, where it is on sale for $20.24.

Swinging by Silhouettes

Swinging by Silhouettes

Fancy border prints make this dress a really cool maxi item to wear over a halter top before the beach, and Silhouettes has some generous sizing that won’t squeeze you anywhere you don’t need to be squeezed. This 100% cotton dress won’t turn out see-through, either, because it’s lined in 100% cotton voile.
I have a feeling that this is a quality piece. . . I guess the only way that I’ll know for sure is if I buy it. Oh darn! I recommend you do the same–it’s available up to size 26.
Border print dress, coming up!

La Grande Dame Pick

La Grande Dame Pick

I’m all about the slimming tops! La Grande Dame has a keyhole neck top from Zen Knits on their site that adds a ton of curves to the right places, and trims away pounds where you don’t need them. A sweet pair of flats and capris, or a knee-length skirt, will work perfectly for career and relationship fun. Rayon with a touch of spandex means that your top won’t stretch out or look baggy at a later date– very well worth the price of $91.
Check it out!
