Hi-Brow Art

Well groomed eyebrows can make or break a first impression. Unruly brows can make you look like you don’t care about the rest of your appearance or other areas of your life either. There are tons of different brow kits and options out there, but the three brow products I simply cannot live without, and keep cycling between, are the Billion Dollar Brows kit, MAC’s Brow Set and Smashbox Brow Tech.

My favourite Billion Dollar Brow product is their Brow Boost, the deep conditioning vitamin-packed treatment makes brows lush and healthy. Overplucking your brows can lead to skinny, sparse brows but …read more

Knowing Your Skin Type Can Save Money

Are you using the right cleansers, toners and scrubs? Do you really know your skin type? If you don’t, do you know that you could be exacerbating any existing skin conditions simply by using the wrong products?
A study completed by the University of Miami Cosmetic Center found that a whopping 80% of people assess their skin type completely incorrectly, which means that you’re likely choosing the wrong skin care products. Maybe you don’t even need to use some of the products you’re consistently buying.
Many people underestimate exactly how oily their skin is, and tend to think they have dry skin. …read more

Review: Archipelago Botanicals Body Creme, Soy Milk

Yes, Soy Milk is the fragrance name (its brothers are Rice and Oat Milk).  It’s very lightly fragranced compared to many body butters, but the scent is both fresh and comforting.  I’m more familiar with their line of candles,  which are highly fragranced and often very fruity,  so this is not really what I expected – but it is a pleasant surprise.
The body creme did wonders on my rough, dry elbows.   It is thick and takes a bit of work to get it rubbed in, but the results are worth a bit of ‘elbow grease’.   Archipelago says:

Review: Get Fresh Body Butter, cucumber mint tea

Wow! Definitely lives up to the adjective “Fresh”! I used this after a shower and my skin felt moisturized without being sticky. I received a sample from Spalook.com and I would definitely purchase a fullsize. The Cucumber Mint Tea scent was a great blend of fresh and slightly sweet/fruity. The texture seemed a bit lighter than most body butters, less sticky, too. Even my boyfriend commented that it was not sticky (he detests sticky lotions/butters on me and is bound to say something if he notices.

Get Fresh’s delightful body butters are the ultimate …read more

Review: Molton Brown White Mulberry fine liquid hand wash

Molton Brown is a brand I’m familiar with in stores but hardly ever purchase. I get really excited when I stay in a hotel that offers it as toiletries, though. I received a sample from Spalook.com and thought this would be a great first review on my new site. Molton Brown works hard to appeal to your sense of luxury, and I think that their unusual scent choices really set them apart in the luxury products market.
I have all but sworn off bar soap, and I love a good hand wash by the sink. Extra points …read more
