]]> My favorite little guy (as opposed to my favorite big guy), Mackie, is a rescued pug that came to our home via the Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue.   You might just find your new best friend there.  Some of  the rescues have special needs, and were treated quite poorly prior to being rescued, so their vet bills are high.

We at Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue, Inc. have teamed up with The Uncommon Garden for a fundraiser to raise money to cover the costs not covered by donations.

We are offering Gourmet Candles available in 10 delectable scents and in two different sizes of candle tins. These scents are perfect for the spring and it is always great to have some extra on hand when you need a little gift to give! Our 6oz candle is only $8, and our 18oz candles are only $16. Each candle is hand poured fresh and will fill your home with the strongest aroma from the first lighting to the last!

]]> juicy-critture.jpgMove over Juicy Crittoure. Outta the way, Bark Jacobs. A hot, crazy trend in fragrance is perfume for dogs. I’m hanging out right now with my little guy, Mackie the pug, and I just asked him if he wanted some doggy perfume for the holidays. He snorted in my face and yawned, which I took as a resounding no. The New York Times recently remarked on this weird phenomenon. My personal take is that A) dogs smell like dogs, and B) if your dog smells TOO MUCH like a dog, give him a bath. Don’t even bother with nice-smelling suds, either, as it could aggravate skin allergies. Seriously, people!! Would you ever buy (and use) perfume for your dog? I’ve got a better idea – donate the $80 for the Juicy Crittoure perfume and grooming products to an animal shelter or breed rescue. Mackie says the folks at Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue were super nice to him and they smell way better than any perfume.
