If you want to try some sexy blue shoes on this holiday season, I’ve got a few red carpet worthy picks for you

Go for the sparkles with Betsey Johnson’s “Kanata“, featuring a peep-toe and matching rosette detail on the vamp.

Prefer a little edgier look?  Then the “Flyn” by Steven may be the blue shoe for you.  It features a wide, studded suede strap and faux-croc heels.

Or are you a girl who likes straps – lots and lots of straps?  Try the blue suede “Shilou” by Steve Madden on for size.  Don’t worry about trying to get all those straps unbuckled though – it actually zips up the back for ease of wearing.

That being said, I don’t think there are too many fashion bloggers who are in love with this particular red carpet look from last night’s Emmy Awards:

Okay, yes – personal style is very important, but this is the Emmys here folks…

I really, really want to love Kate Flannery’s whole outfit here – she’s got an adorable 50s vibe going on and that brooch on her waist is just charming:

But I can’t do the gloves.

I’m sorry.

I realize that makes me a bad person.

Maybe if they were more fitted?  A little less fabric at the wrist perhaps?

This however is just a plain old “no” for me:

Heavy, opague black tights with that slinky dress?  Bare legs and strappy sandals would have turned that outfit into something lovely – not a clunky pairing.

Emmy Awards Style Goofs

In fact – I loved it so much that I wanted to share some of my favorite red clutch purse picks, for almost any budget!

Let’s start with the high-end splurge:

That is a Christian Louboutin “Petal” satin evening bag.  Yes, it costs almost $1500, but it’s a Louboutin – you’re paying for quality here ladies!

My mid-range pick rings in at a more moderate $225:

My next pick isn’t made out of red satin, but at only $58, I can work with red faux croc:

Red clutch purses for almost any budget

Actress Taraji P. Henson (”Queenie” in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) added a little red carpet to her style when she carried an elegant pleated red satin clutch purse.

There were a lot of classic metallic and crystal clutches on the red carpet last night, but I love the little added spice that the red added to her outfit.  It’s small enough that the color doesn’t overwhelm her outfit – but just sets it off nicely.

Tomorrow – my favorite picks for red clutch purses… all the way from “rent for a month” to bargain chic!

Pretty red accents in a sea of white at the Oscars

After all, there are the Grammys, New York Fashion Week is about to kick off, and of course – the Oscars are rolling out the red carpet in the next couple of weeks as well.

Since I am an opinionated fashion blogger, I must throw my two cents into the red carpet pool and pick a few special accessories that I think would make the red carpet walk a little more glamorous.

What am I recommending?  Clear, glittering crystals and pale gold!

The nude sandal is covered with teensy little crystals for a restrained sparkle.

But what if you don’t have a $100,000.00 budget for party dresses?  Or the ability to borrow a million dollars worth of diamonds?  Fake it!

Now admittedly, these dress sandals by Nina Heloise are the most expensive item here at $82.95, but they’re still cheaper than two grand for a pair of strappy Blahniks.

And now for the steal of the day – $5.50 for this charming vintage (1940s) evening bag!

Just in case you’re not quite sparkly enough, there’s the “Princess Bride” bracelet coming in at just $20.00.
