I love this color!  Unique and vibrant colors are in this summer, so these are an amazing price for a great style.

Paul Smith Aviator Frames $98 (reg. $325)

This a great verions of the classic black plastic aviator that is in style this summer.  These are similar to the Carrera sunglasses that are so popular in Europe.

Paul Smith Oversized Square Sunglasses $98 (reg. $325)

Again, a ridiculous price for designer Paul Smith sunglasses.  I love the color combination in these with the deep forest green and the amber tortoise shell.  These are a smaller size so they would fit on many face shapes.

I’ve found more Gossip Girl headbands!  Jennifer Oullette is another accessories designer who has had booming business thanks to Blair Waldorf and her signature headbands.  She designs many of the headbands that are seen on the show, which are also being featured in tons of fashion spreads.  Most of Jennifer Oullette’s gorgeous headbands start at around $70, so I was extremely excited to discover that many of her designs are currently on sale for 50% off at Barneys online!

Jennifer Oullette Straw Weave Headband $36.75 (reg. $75)

This wide satin headband has a square weave pattern with a thinner bow.  I love the summery look of the bright red gingham-inspired pattern.  This would be great paired with a solid halter dress.

For a dressed up look, I love this textured metallic leather headband.  It comes in shiny gold or silver.  This would be great with curled hair and an LBD.

Jennifer Oullette Ikat Cotton Turban Headband $29.25 (reg. $70)

For a casual look, I like this multi-colored cotton knotted headband.  I like the thickness of the cloth and the fading of the colors.  It comes in purple/blue and yellow/tan.  This could be paired with boyfriend jeans, a white tank, and a loose ponytail.

Barton Perreira sunglasses are currently on sale at Gilt Groupe at ridiculously low prices of up to 80% off!  New LA-based eyewear designer Barton Perreira is known for their understated delicate wire frame sunglasses.  In contrast to the direction of flashiness and logos that other designers have moved towards over the last few years, Barton Perreira’s designs focus on fit and minimalism.  Although new to the eyewear scene, their sunglasses have been spotted on diverse celebrities like Heidi Pratt, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Marcia Cross.

If you are drawn to simple wireless frames and delicate wire frames with colored lenses, then you will love the Barton Perreira sunglasses.

If you are one of those responsible skin-conscious women who never forgets to apply sunscreen, then you really need to know about the brand Physician Endorsed…they make the absolute perfect hat for a combination of fashion and healthy sun protection!

Physician Endorsed offers a selection of women’s sun hats that are constructed from a chemical-free cotton that provides sun protection of SPF 30.  The company was started by husband and wife team Elissa Margulies and Michael Ross to address the combination of the growing desire to protect skin from sun damage and to always look fashionable.  They have received the National Health and Wellness Seal of Approval for their products’ efforts towards protection against skin cancer.

Until midnight on June 4 there is a great sale on Proenza Schouler and Robert Marc sunglasses at Gilt Groupe.  Gilt Groupe is one of those websites where you gain access to discount designer sales by registering to receive email updates.  I am usually not a big fan of these types of websites, but they actually have an amazing collection of designers at usually around 70% off.  The main negative is that the sales only last for a couple days and the good designs sell out super fast so you have to make a decision quickly!

I love these black simple square plastic sunglasses with just a hint of metal on the bridge and temple.  This oversized square style is very popular right now so this is a really great price!

Proenza Schouler Classic Wayfarer $98 (orig. $310)

These are a slightly different take on the traditional wayfarer style with smaller round lenses and metal details along the temple.  I like the white and silver color combination in the frames.

Users say it’s “amazing” and “an older-classy lady scent.”  I’m pretty sure that that is a compliment as the commenter says she is a young woman who has purchased the fragrance mulitple times. Customers gave it 4.8 stars.

Obviously sales are pretty great.  The only consistent difficulty that I have with shopping sales is that any great style that I find is never available in my size.  In checking out the sales online recently, I just had a great realization: accessories on sale are the best because they usually come in just one size!  Hats and sunglasses are usually fairly generic in size (hats come in maybe two sizes at the most), so it’s a better chance that you will find what you are looking for.

Banana Republic is currently having a great accessories sale, with up to 50% off on hats and sunglasses.  I always love stocking up on the basics at Banana Republic sales, so here are my picks for classics that are affordable and on sale and going to be quite fashionable this summer:

Here is a beautiful version of my favorite hat style of the summer: the straw cloche.  The straw is a great seasonal update to the wool cloche that was so popular this winter.  The belt detail on the brim is a unique and casual element.  The Straw Cloche is $29.99 (reg. $49).

Mom  came by  last night and while we were relaxing on the patio with a cold one,  the subject turned to mosquitoes. Yuck.
