Just a photo snapped last year of me wearing a dress by a local (Philippine) indie designer Irene Pineda. She runs an online shop over at Multiply called Irene’s Closet and used to have a shop at the Archeology Wing of the Power Plant Mall located in Rockwell, Makati City. I reckon she know has a shop along Jupiter Street also in Makati City.

I love the tiered ruffled dress with paisley print in pink and purple crossover straps. It actually has the right length. Looks very dainty and feminine. I only wore it once before I handed it over to my sister as a gift. I hope she likes it as much as I do. It’s one of the dresses I like cuz it’s one of a kind, something you can often expect if you’re into the whole indie fashion scene. It almost feel like you own couture!

Emily Ruf Dress by Irene Pineda

For the last few years, I’ve been fortunate enough to have met and worked with a few local Indie designers. I love the idea of discovering fresh and highly unique, sometimes one-of-a-kind even, designs. I’ve managed to have found myself drawn to buying stuff from them, may it be accessories to apparel or footwear. AND, let me tell you this, if you get to meet the designers behind these lovely, lovely things, you’ll discover that it adds on to the whole experience of immersing yourself in the world of Indie Fashion. Independent Fashion Designers Rock!

I also wear the beauty blogger hat, too. So, I’m looking forward to indie beauty brands, which will make a good side note for Indie Style File!
