I rarely get this excited over a product, believe me. But I’ve just discovered Shea Yeleen International’s body butters, body balms and lip balms. My skin is ecstatic, my husband can’t stop smelling me and the best part — I’m helping to promote sustainable economic development and empower women in West Africa.
Let me explain.
Shea butter, the killer ingredient in Shea Yeleen’s products, is one of the few economic commodities women control in West Africa. It takes a great amount of labor to produce this amazingly hydrating formula, and Shea Yeleen is one of the nonprofit organizations working to mobilize the …read more
Planet Spa Body Scrub

I’ll admit, it’s been a while since I’ve done any Avon shopping. But a friend of mine introduced me to Planet Spa African Shea Butter Brown Sugar Body Scrub (available from Avon) and now I’m hooked.
This fabulous scrub exfoliates your skin and leaves it incredibly soft. It’s gentle enough that you can use it all the time. I wasn’t familiar with the Planet Spa line before trying this scrub, but now I am interested.
At Avon.com, it says the body scrub will be available soon (unfortunately, I guess it’s temporarily out of stock). But you should be able to get it …read more
New From Kenzo – Kenzoki Barefeet Fantasy

I tried Kenzoki Barefeet Fantasy, from Kenzo today. In fact, I had my boyfriend try it, too. He said, “Oh, it’s nice and cool.” I agree.
Kenzo uses special Rice Plant Water, from the Chinese province of Zhejiang, as a reinforcer to the product’s anti-oxidant ingredients. Cupuacu butter, an herbal butter from the Amazon forest, contains fatty acids that maintain the skin’s lipidic layer. Shea Butter, from the fruit of the Butyrospermum Parkii tree, repairs, soothes, calms, and protects the skin.
It has a thick consistency and a great scent – Kenzo calls it a Rice Steam scent. I think I smell a …read more

Whipped Shea butter can be a bit messy if it’s pure, but it’s also one of the best things I’ve found to moisturize my hands and feet. Do you get those raggedy cuticles in the winter? I sure do. Yuck. I’m looking for some great products to help out and I found this. It looks really great and also naturally formulated to be as healthy as possible. GudonyaToo is really tempting me this time. Just read this ingredients list:
This all natural Whipped Shea Butter is just what your dry, winter, or sunburned skin is crying out for! We take …read more
My Favorite Things Part 2!

So yesterday I introduced you to one of my favorite shea butter lotions. Coming in at #4 is another product stuffed with shea: MadCitySue’s whipped shea scrub. Sue is tearing it up over at her etsy store. The scrubs and lotions are seriously some of the best I’ve ever tried – retail, e-tail, high end or low. The prices can’t be beat, and the scents are strong and delicious. This is a medium-to strongly scrubby scrub. I prefer my scrubs to be as exfoliating as I can get them. Only …read more
