Shiseido Pureness for Combination Skin

If you have shine and oil in your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and dryness on your cheeks, you have combination skin.  It’s not easy to take care of skin that suffers from both oiliness and dryness, so I was excited to discover the Shiseido Pureness line that was designed to deal with this specific skin condition.  Oh and can I also mention that it’s pronounced shee-SAY-doe and not shi-SHEE-doe, which is what I hear most people saying…it’s Japanese!

I see combination skin as a condition that occurs after the sensitive acne-prone skin of puberty and before the seriously moisture-hungry skin of …read more

Fashion Week: Dick Page for Shiseido

Did you see the Marc by Marc Jacobs show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week? If you were wondering who created that punk rock makeup look to go along with the colorful fashions, it was Dick Page, Shiseido artistic director. Dick has done a variety of the shows at Spring 2010 Fashion Week, ranging from very subtle makeup to extremely vibrant.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs look was relatively simple. You can get that painted on lip color look that is inspired by the bright clothes.

Backstage at United Bamboo: Shiseido Makeup

I thought the faces of the United Bamboo models on the runway looked very doll-like but not overdone. This season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, we are seeing a lot more natural, wearable makeup than we have seen in some season’s past.
Get the look from United Bamboo …

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Mask

Why do so many great products, such as Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Brightening Mask, cost more than $60 ($68 for six masks, to be precise)?
Doesn’t Shiseido understand how addicted I am to its unbelievably luxurious formula, the same one that leaves my face petal-soft and somehow feeling protected from the outside elements for hours – HOURS – after I’ve applied the mask? Don’t the good people there understand that $68 is like a few hundred dollars in this economy?
I digress. All of the White Lucent products, which contain Spot Deacti-Complexes, Vitamin C and Asian plant extracts, target dark spots and …read more
