Oh, Desira, why do you always hit me where it hurts? Right in the “I’m broke, but I want that” center of my being. How did you know that I’m totally obsessed with purple, florals, silks, and drapey, amorphous things? Am I so transparent? Maybe, but check it:
The simple gathered style means that this blouse can be worn a number of ways. Me? I’m thinking of it tucked into a short, high-waisted tulip skirt with granny boots and sixty-five strands of silver chains. But there’s also a skirt that goes with it, and it’s available as a set. Which makes …read more

The symbol of the Evil Eye is popular in Greek culture because it is said to ward off the evil spells that are cast by an envious glance. Otrera founder Elle Sakellis was inspired by the symbol of the Evil Eye from her frequent travels to visit family in Mykonos and had the idea of bringing this traditional and meaningful symbol into high fashion. She created a bold pattern in many vibrant colors that featured the iconic Evil Eye and used the fabric to create beautiful silk chiffon scarves.

I was shopping at Anthropologie last weekend and I was trying on all of their different hair accessories to see which ones just look really great in pictures and which ones actually look really great on. My absolute favorite of the styles they had in stock was this beautiful Perched Wing Headband. It is a black headband with a simple silk ruffle asymmetrically adorning one side. The headband comes in black, lilac, and white so I would pick the color that contracts most strikingly with your hair color (pink was best for my dark brown hair).

I always notice gorgeous silk scarves in stores everywhere…from classic designer Pucci scarves to colorful options being sold on tables on the streets in New York. They look so beautiful and I have always wanted to know how to tie one so that I can wear it and look fashionable.

JK Rowling wore a spectacular silk coat by Dior at a recent awards ceremony. While I haven’t been able to track down the same coat, I did find this one by Dior:
It has the same jeweled belt and is a luxurious 100% silk – just in a trendy green animal print, rather than paisley. Rowr!

I have fond memories of playing with my mom’s button jars when I was a child, and to this day I still love buttons I think that’s why I love this little clutch purse from Anthropologie so much:
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to run my hands through my button stash now…

I stumbled across The Carrotbox not too long ago and had to share their site. It’s part blog, part shop & definitely worth checking out.
They have rings made out of vintage silk kimonos
Vintage lucite rings
And carved “Zinnia” lucite rings. Too yummy!

Just in case it has skipped your mind, there is a very romantic night coming up and I think that this evening bag should just about hold all that is required to see you through the evening.
Just how many evening bags do you own by the way? Does one need more than one? And what are the must haves that you carry in your bag? I know that there isn’t a lot of room, but I’m curious to see if anyone can stuff more into it than me!
