Estée Lauder to Discontinue Prescriptives

Fans of Prescriptives fragrance Calyx, better hurry up and grab a bottle or two, because when it’s gone, it’s gone for good. Estée Lauder Companies Inc. announced today that they are discontinuing the 30 year old Prescriptives line after an evaluation and are turning their focus to other brands.
“We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources to key strategic imperatives where we see the highest growth potential,” said Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies. “Ultimately this action allows us to focus on those areas which we expect to …read more

One of the newest collections from M.A.C. is called Baby Bloom. This was released a bit late for summer but they’ll work equally well during the fall.  The collection focuses on keeping your skin and lips soft, lightly tinted and, of course, safe from the sun. Fade Skin Discolorations with Ambi

One of the top skin concerns women have are how to fade age spots, acne scars, freckles and other skin discolorations. A product line I hear and read about often is Ambi Fade Cream.
There are three formulations to choose from, Ambi Fade Cream for Normal Skin, Oily Skin and Dry Skin.  Per the description, this fade cream will visibly fade dark spots within 2 weeks with continued use. Sounds promising, no?
The ingredients used are:
Hydroquinone – this is what fades the skin discolorations
Alpha Hydroxy Acid – enhances the fading results
Vitamin E – aids to soften and smooth your

Philosophy Coconut Frosting Sea Salt Scrub

I recently discovered the fabulous-ness that is Philosophy Coconut Frosting. If you’re looking for an amazing at home sea salt scrub that will leave your skin smelling faintly sweet, soft and smooth, this scrub is for you!
Philosophy Coconut Frosting is a fantastic way to pamper your skin and your senses. If you love the smell of coconuts as much as I do, you’ll fall in love with the way this scrub smells. It’s not overly sweet either, just a pleasant, warm, milky, soft coconut scent. It really is divine! Aside from the wonderful smell, the scrub itself is fabulous.  …read more

Budget Skin Care : Olay Regenerist

The other day I informally polled my friends about what skin care products they use on a daily basis and most of them were tried and true fans of Olay, specifically the Regenerist line.

The Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging has pretty much everything you would want in a daily facial moisturizer. There’s UVA/UVB SPF 50 sunscreen combined with their exclusive Peptide + B3 complex. This moisturizer will help protect your skin from UV rays while it replenishes your …read more

Review : Burt’s Bees Lip Stash ‘Mixed’

Recently, I completely ran out of my beloved SoftLips lip balm so I headed straight away to my local drugstore. Unfortunately, the store was out of my favourite SoftLips flavor (Strawberry). Bummed and not having the time to jet off to another store, I reached for my second favourite lip balm, Burt’s Bees.
Now, I hadn’t used Burt’s Bees lip balm for years and years (goes to show you how much of a fan I am of SoftLips!) and I was a little apprehensive about buying it again but one always needs to moisturize their lips!  I couldn’t decide between all …read more
