“If you are to examine the photo seen above, you’ll find that there’s a distinct accent, which happens to be hand-designed by local artist Vernon Perez (aka Spoonman), that makes the miniskirt unique. The fact that the detail is hand-designed boasts that no two skirt is the same. Fantastic, isn’t it? That is one of the things I like about clothes that aren’t mass-produced. It’s gives me the satisfaction of owning an item that creates the illusion that it’s especially made just for me.” — Sasha Manuel, StyleManila.com

More poofy skirts!
This once is made of happy orange corduroy and pretty tulle. This skirt is so pretty, yet the corduroy totally makes it a little more casual. I like that the photo has it styled for day-to-day wear. See you can wear poofy skirts if you’re not Carrie Bradshaw.
Anna Blues has just enough fabric for another custom-sized skirt like this if you’re not a tiny size 0-2. If you are that tiny, i demand you order this skirt.
$110

hot or not: cage skirt
image: iheartnorwegianwood
I’m not an avant guarde kinda gal. I usually stick to Threadless tees and skinny jeans these days, especially since I’m not working and spending a lot of time at home.
But Susie Bubble is kind of my inspiration. If i had guts, I usually say, I would totally dress like her. So when she started lamenting about cage skirts I decided to take a look.
iheartnorwegianwood on etsy makes these couture little items in pretty much any color and with any kind of buttons you want. It’s a layering item for about $60.
I love layering and I think it could …read more

There was once tie-dye and it was terrible. it was the stuff of old hippies. It was a project at a sleepover.

yeti eyes skirt
(image: two see)
This is a skirt for the brave. It was part of JC de Castelbajac’s recent collection, which seemed to have focused on monsters. I think it would be great if you kept everything else simple, like a plain white tee and simple flats. It’s supposed to be very high waisted.
There are pockets behind the eyes so you can make this little yeti look straight at people. How ingenious!
Sizes small and medium, £375.

bamboo skirt
Bamboo is my favorite fabric. It’s so soft and I swear, as you wash it, it gets softer.
I was really excited to find ecochic’s shop. Here my favorite things are blended: indie style and eco style! Made in Miami, ecochic has dresses, tops and skirts made from eco-friendly materials with plenty of look. It’s not hippie, but it’s not ultra modern either. It’s comfortable. ($48)

tetris skirt
You know which ones I hated? The L-shaped tetris pieces. They were all weird, worse than the s shaped ones. Celebrate your tetris obsession with a skirt from hissyfitoly.
