Kenzoki: Marshmallow Mask

Good skin care is a passion of mine. I’m always lecturing anyone who will listen about washing their makeup off before bed, using sunscreen, moisturizer, or a good mask treatment.
Kenzo sent me a sample of their new Kenzoki: Marshmallow Mask to try for review. Here are a few points about me that you might not be aware of 1) I love Kenzo and 2) I will try anything with the word “Marshmallow” in the name.

Kenzoki: Marshmallow Maskis part of Kenzo’s Sensual Rice line (I tried the Barefeet Fantasy Food Creamfrom the same line). The mask is designed for use by …read more

Splurge or Save: Cellulite Smoothers

Cellulite sucks. I was able to live cellulite-free until my late 30s. I was lucky, because I’ve seen girls much younger than that, girls with no real weight problem, who had cellulite.
Beauty.com, which is tied into Drugstore.com, has a selection of body firming, cellulite smoothing products that range in price from the bargain product to the luxury lotion.
Bliss’s FatGirlSlim Firming Cream is one of the less expensive but effective firming creams at $29 for 6 ounces.
It features “QuSome-encapsulated caffeine molecules” which provide a quick, temporary firming action. Clinical studies show that 87% of users reported a firming effect, 85% saw …read more

Top 10 Exfoliation Tips

Nothing will make your skin look more dull than slacking on regular exfoliation. While you can’t see the accumulation of dead skin cells with the naked eye, it’s there – and you won’t be feeling ready for bikini weather if you don’t do something about it.

Wash your hands first so you remove any bacteria on your hands.
Always make sure the exfoliation products you are using on your face are specially formulated for your face.
Take into consideration the type of skin you have – everyone has different needs, but you won’t be doing yourself any favors if you have dry skin …read more

Jaqua – Smooth, Soft, Cupcake-scented Skin

I think I’ve mentioned my obsession with cupcakes before. I love the way they look, love the buttercream frosting taste and scent. Unfortunately, they are not good for me, so I pass on them 98% of the time.
Instead, I look for products like this……..

Jaqua Pink Buttercream Frosting Guilt Free Body Treats

What is Microdermabrasion?

What is Microdermabrasion?

By now, microdermabrasion treatments have become a normal, almost expected, cosmetic procedure everyone should consider – regardless of your skin type or age. So what’s the big deal?
Microdermabrasion removes the very top outer layer of your skin, including the dead cells and dirt particles, leaving your skin smooth and even. Your skin sheds tiny microscopic skin cells all day, and most of the dirt and makeup gets wiped away when you cleanse your face (you are of course doing this twice a day, every day..right?)
As this treatment has increased in popularity, there are now products available to exfoliate at home …read more

Are Facials Worth It?

Are Facials Worth It?

What does it really take for smooth, flawless skin?
One of your first answers might have been regular facials. If you have ever been to an aesthetician’s office to have your skin cleansed, exfoliated and treated with a facial, you know what a special indulgence this can feel like…and how shiny and “glowing” your skin is when you leave.
However, the real question becomes whether the $150-$200 (or more!) you are spending on each facial, is really worth it.
Catherine Saint Louis tackled the facial question yesterday in the NY Times.
Aestheticians and spas have long promoted such routine facials as required maintenance for …read more

Remove Unwanted Hair With Body Sugar

Like most girls, I’m sure you’ve spent your fair share of time waxing, shaving or going to other lengths to achieve smooth skin and get rid of body hair. But what you may not know about is another option – body sugaring. Not only is body sugaring easier on the skin, less painful and more effective than traditional waxing, but it’s edible. Okay, that feature might not be the ultimate selling point when you’re at the spa, but it’s something to consider.
The biggest difference between body sugaring and other hair removal methods is that it’s both all natural and (eventually) …read more
