While window shopping with my pal, Leah, on Friday, I found a brand of highly-scented soy and paraffin blend candles that I am now in love with. The Tyler Candle Company’s home fragrance line has candles, laundry scents, fragrance oil to be used with reeds, and bath and body itemswith names like Beach Blonde, 24K, Baby Doll, Diva, PMS, Girly Girl, and Glamtastic. They have a layered note effect that reminds me of how a parfum is built.
Here’s a description of Beach Blonde, which is one of the two fragrances that I purchased:

I love green tea. Every time I drink it, I’m transported back in time to a Chinese restaurant table, full of little silver serving dishes and my Grandma’s voice. “Try the chicken in the paper, Michelle,” or something along those lines.
I found this Green Tea-scented Soy candle at Etsy today. It’s housed in a beautiful earthenware pot, handmade by the candlemaker, and accented with a lovely silver charm. Each one “…totally unique and one of a kind.” Really very beautiful.
You can find this candle, along with others, at the Mad Hatter’s Pottery shop at Etsy.

Time for an Etsy shopping trip…..
Do you enjoy a good cup of tea? How about a tea cup soy candle? The cup candles are made of enviromentally friendly soy wax and tea cups gathered from second hand shops, for the TwilightSpells shop. The cup featured here has an Asian theme with a bamboo plant, but as these are second hand cups, there are many different styles.
I love how it glows from within. Very pretty. The candles are very easily customized. The seller takes requests for fragrances including classic scents like lavender, vanilla, rose, coconut, with some interesting scents thrown …read more

Spa Cadet, a company that goes by the slogan, “funky, fresh, and fabulous beauty,” carries a wide assortment of fun for your bath, beauty, and home needs. I recently tried the Ergo Grapefruit candle that they carry.
If you’ve read me before, then you already know what a fan I am of citrus. This candle carries a very natural smelling citrus scent. It smells like …….okay, it smells like a grapefruit-flavored cough drop tastes, but honestly, the grapefruit cough drops are my favorite. They are pink and my children will back me up on this – I immediately pull them all …read more
Essential Oil Combinations To Soothe and Invigorate

I love baths and I regularly make my own bath salts. A reader asked for additional essential oil combinations. Essential oils can be pricey, so I usually stick to either Lavender because it relaxes me or Eucalyptus because my family finds it helpful during cold and flu season. It’s very soothing when you inhale the scented steam. Here are a few combos, I’ll add more later, that you can use with the above mentioned bath salt recipe that you can find here. The numbers signify how many drops to add to the salt. You add the oil a drop at a time, …read more
