Stock Up For Next Season’s Classic Shoes

I tend to talk a lot about the fun trends in accessories and shoes that come and go through the seasons, but I’ve got a different kind of suggestion today.
While we’re all gearing up for fall and winter trends, summer shoes are on sale right now.  In fact, you can find some great designer shoes that have been heavily discounted.
While I wouldn’t recommend stocking up on trends from last spring or summer, why not save some money and get some classic shoes?
Classic shoes are the ones that you can wear for more than one season.  They’re a timeless style or …read more

Elastic Sandals?

It’s just too darn hot to think about all those cozy Fall 2009 shoes – so I’ve been browsing through the summer sandals instead
I’ve noticed a few different shoe designers are constructing large parts of their shoes out of elastic straps.  Elastic does have some benefits – it’s instantly easier to fit a shoe, no more fussing because it’s a half size too small in the heel and too large in the toes.  It’s forgiving to wear and moves with your feet.
There is one downside to elastic though…
Over time, it loses it’s elasticity.  That means that the gorgeous …read more

Cage Sandals for the Rest of Us

Cage sandals are such a sexy look, and they’ve available in tons of different colors and heel heights as well.
There can be one problem for women during the summer time though…
If you’re prone to swelling in your feet or ankles – cage sandals can lead to uncomfortable marks all over your feet.  I’ve even seen some women whose feet ended up puffing out of the teensy little straps.
Check out how fine the straps are on the “Celtic” sandal from Dolce Vita:

Gorgeous – but not always practical.
One option can be to move to a sandal with wider straps.  A little more …read more

Flip Flops or Just Flops?

It always surprises me to see women wearing very casual foam flip flops to locations that might normally require a little bit more dressing up.
Yes, they’re comfy, but if you feel the need to wear makeup or do something other than a messy pony tail with your hair, maybe it’s time to change shoes?
And besides, foot specialists aren’t usually big fans of flip flops either…
Need some style ideas for a sandal that’s going to be as comfy as your old flip flops, but with a dash more flair?

A low heel and ankle strap means this thong sandal by Emilio Pucci …read more

Blast From The Past: The Jelly Sandal

Welcome back 1990! The Jelly Sandal has made it’s comeback! In the late 80s I lived in jellies. In the late 90s to even today it’s the flip-flop. Today, I’m trying my hardest to step out of the flip-flop. I may have met my match with these Tod’s Tasseled Rubber Sandals. Calling them Rubber Sandals is just the tactful way of calling them “jellies.”

So, on top of them being sandals, which I adore, they also have some fringe, which is also all the rage this Spring/Summer. They come in blue, black and the transparent white color that just makes them …read more

Jeweled Sandals for Hot Summer Style

Jeweled sandals are a great way to add a little more flair to your summer wardrobe.  You can dress them up with a pretty dress, or go casual with a pair of city shorts and a t-shirt.

These slide sandals from Manolo Blahnik sport a chunky series of stones and an easy-to-wear 2″ heel:

Valentino goes for a restrained style with this minimalist thong sandal, accented with a turquoise-colored stone.

Diane von Furstenberg has accented this sandal with a panel of woven beads:

Go for the glamor with Manolo Blanik’s snakeskin slide – it’s accented with faceted crystals, this one is more “city night …read more

products for tender tootsies

There’s no point in wearing summer’s strappy sandals if your feet aren’t ready to show off
I just got to try out a new product from Spongeables, called “Pedi-scrubs”, that should help keep your feet in strappy-sandal condition.

Pedi-scrubs are a two sided sponge (one side is soft, for skin and the other is a pumice sponge for soles) infused with soap.  They did a great job of buffing my heels (where I’m prone to getting calluses) and were gentle enough for my toes.
I tried out the green citrus-eucalyptus after a long day on my feet & it felt wonderful… …read more
