swim: rockaway beach

Summer is not over yet! There is still one month left for you to get a new swimsuit and get some vitamin D (only after you put on some sunscreen of course)
Rockaway is one of my recent finds. It’s the brainchild of Mui Ying Kwa, who spent time in the performing arts before pursuing fashion full-time, and Vida Dominguez, who was a dancer.
I like the global look of their swimsuits. They would look perfect in Europe, Brazil or LA.

cut-out swimsuit
Cut-out suits are apparently huge.
This one, by Blutsgeschwister, has a very indie aesthetic about it. I like the checkered print with the belt, although I’m not sure that you want to swim in this thing, it’s certainly pretty.
The boyshort bottom is great for anyone who has a boyish figure or wants to cover up a little more on that end of their body.
Would you wear a cut-out suit? How do you avoid weird tan lines?

mesh swimsuit
One-piece swimsuits are the new thing this summer. You’ve got monokinis and low cut suits, but you’ve yet to see a mesh suit, right?
Now you have.
Way vintage with the little buttons and simple detailing, this suit is pretty darn cute.
Can you smell the surf? Grab your beach towel!

swim: kelly b bikini

It’s officially warm out. It’s officially time to get that bikini and go strut your stuff at the beach.
This Kelly B bikini is not only super cute, but it’s almost all organic cotton. I love the little ruffles on the top, it makes and otherwise bland swimsuit stand out.
Worried about it being totally white? No worries, it’s lined, so nothing that shouldn’t will come peeking out.
Extra small to large. $124

swim: jessie williams swim collection
Oh, indie swimsuits. No idea why, but it’s hard to find them (probably related to the small number of indie lingerie designers), so I was excited when I stumbled upon Jessie Williams’ new designs.
All of Jessie’s swimsuit tops come in a bajillion color combos and they’re all reversible.
Some, like the Maria top above, have these little ties, so you can adjust the top. All the tops have “bling” counterparts, which are more metallic fabrics (like the photo at the top of this post).
If you want some more coverage, you can wear this cute tankini, which looks simple until you …read more
