Nothing says white trash faster than a wolf tee. Which is why I’m stocking up now and repping my roots. Paired with a fringe jacket and high boots, and you’re basically me at 33 trying to look like me at 13. FYI: my leather doesn’t actually have fringe on it, but I kinda wish it did.

In real life, I’d wear this tee with a bottle of Boone’s Farm and a minor oxycotin addiction and walk around saying, “hey, does that come in acid wash?” Available for $68 from OakNYC.

The best thing about Halloween, besides vampires and ghosts and parties, is obviously candy. If you’re not the type to don a real costume, and honestly, I think there’s no excuse for that, then at least get into the spirit with a festive tee.

I’ve been writing a lot about basics, lately. Why? Because I’m broke. We’re all broke, and it’s a little hard to justify buying party dresses right now. But tee shirts? Nope, I have no problem with that. We all need tee shirts. Especially when they look like this.

Shazaam! The tee shirt just exploded in a a glorious mass of ruffles, and I adore it! The great thing about it is that it’s fancy and awesome, but it’s still just a freaking tee shirt, so if you want to wear it with jeans, feel free. I’m not sure I’d wear it with anything but jeans, actually, but I also like the way they’ve styled it here.

Totally comfortably and everyday, but also sort of amazing, no? I love those little ruffles peeking out behind the jacket lapel. Available for $58 from ArtLab.

I have something against totally plain tees. I don’t know what it is, but unless it’s layered under something else, I just don’t wear them. Maybe because everyone else does. I want my tees to have a little extra personality. A ruffle here and a pleat there can make all the difference. This adorable bib tee by OrganiK Revolution totally caught my eye. Check it:

First of all, I am really digging the soft grey taupe color, which they call “stormy cliffs”. And the combo of cute and edgy is pretty spot on. The stripey bib creates a sort of sailor vibe, but the zipper makes it a little edgy. Plus, it’s made out of soybeans! Okay, there’s also a little bit of cotton in it (organic, of course), and a teensy bit of spandex to help it hold its shape, but soybeans! They’re not just for edamame anymore. Raise your hand if you have too many tee shirts. Okay, now raise your hand if you keep buying them, anyways. Okay, we’re on the same page. My tee shirt drawer overfloweth, but, eh, who cares, really? In the grand spiral staircase of garment shopping, they’re pretty cheap, and they don’t actually take up that much space, so who’s really getting hurt here? No one. So, here’s another tee.

I’m not really sure what the name of this shirt has to do with anything, but it’s all so surreal and bizarre that I just love it. The house that’s chimney smoke turns into a man cigar smoke turns into more people? Yes, please. I only wish it came in grey. Available for $36 from Blood Is The New Black.

The combination of soft, delicate silk blouses with black jeans is a favorite of mine. I love the textual contrast between silk and denim, and the high-low casual chic vibe. This Dark Side tee by Jane Ane Marie is really killing it in terms of style. It’s so supple and sophisticated, but totally rock-n-roll.

The combination of the pale silk georgette the black chiffon is striking. The sheer chiffon dominates the back of the tee, which takes the current trend of black sheer mesh and makes it a little less malls-y. Of course, you don’t have to wear this top with jeans, it would look equally fabulous with a black drapey mini and stockings. Available for $185 from Jane Ane Marie.

Holy hipster grab bags! I have always been a bit of a gambler, and also a bit of a bargain hunter. So, when I get a chance to be both at the same time, well, I really couldn’t be happier. Truth in advertising, that’s what I’m interested in. And this totally clever tee by indie darling, Desira Pesta, is exactly that. Plus, it’s goldenrod, and how often do you get to describe something as goldenrod?

You can’t see it in this pic, but there’s a hilariously haggard portrait of Woody Allen in the lower right hand corner. I really dig the sketchy, floating, collaged feeling of the design, plus the combo of mint and black on goldenrod. Ha! I said it again. Goldenrod goldenrod goldenrod. Okay, I’m done. Last week,, I got a new tattoo: a sparkling red ruby in the crook between my left shoulder cap and my collar bone. All my BFFs are getting their own respective gemstones, too, cuz there’s nothing like a little permanent body bling. For some people, however, tattoos may be on the permanent side of permanent, so here’s a totally pain-free alternative.

$10 and Under at Urban Outfitters!

Okay, as I have said in the past, I don’t really condone shopping at Urban Outfitters. That doesn’t mean I don’t do it sometimes, it just means I’m a hypocrite about it. They are towering corporate behemoth that gives money to conservative causes. But here’s a time when I feel totally okay about shopping at the old UO, when prices are so low that they just HAVE to be taking a loss.

This badass Silence + Noise tank is a mere $9.99. Obviously that doesn’t include shipping, but still. It’s dope. And it says “Destructive Tendencies” on the front. Love it.

These quilted arm round sunglasses are down to $4.99. That’s less than an ultra grande latte or whatever, so even if you only wear them once, it’s kinda worth it. But you won’t wear them only once, because they have nice dark lenses, so they’ll probably become a quick hangover favorite, right? Er, maybe that’s just me?

This Silence + Noise mesh pocket tee is totally 90’s-licious and also only $4.99. You laugh now, but in two months you’re gonna be rocking this thing with some Doc Martens and thanking me.

Obviously, there’s more where that came from. They say the sale ends on the 26th, but I doubt it. On the other hand, things might go fast, so…you make the call. All items available at Urban Outfitters.
