If you have the same dilemma or if you want to add a stylish new tote to your handbag collective, I found a couple highly splurge worthy candidates we can audition ASAP!

Gucci Jolie Large Tote ($780 at Bergdorfs) – The Gucci logo paired with the red and green striping detail makes this tote a total classic.  This tote has been around for years and it continues to be a best seller and can often be on back order on various websites.  I think what’s appealing about the Jolie tote is the simple structure. Although the Gucci logo pattern is everywhere, it’s not too obnoxious or in your face. Plus the charms are fun!

Louis Vuitton Damier Neverfull MM ($700 at LV) – This versatile tote has been around for a couple years now and it is a highly coveted bag from LV.  Its available in three sizes, but like Goldilocks and the three bears, the medium (MM) size feels just right. This tote is also available in the classic Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas print but if you don’t want logos galore, this would be a better choice. By the way, this tote will soon be available in Damier Azur next year so if you love that lighter colour combination, wait for that!

Ok, maybe you’d rather get a tote that is logo or pattern, free? Take a gander at these beauties, in the ever chic and fashionable black…

Dior Soft Large Woven Shopper ($2350 at Bergdorfs) – This is a tote bag that doesn’t mess around. The large size will hold just about anything and everything. The style is classic and the black woven lambskin leather is super lush. Similar to the Gucci Jolie tote above, this one has the familiar Dior charms for a bit of playfulness.

Bottega Veneta Buckle Leather Tote ($1850 at Saks) – If you want something a wee bit smaller than the Dior, this one is perfection.  The leather is exquisitely soft and supple. The buckles add just the right amount of detail to keep it from looking bland and boring. But really when is a Bottega Veneta bag ever boring?

Hmm, I love them all but isn’t that always the case?! My ideal tote is all or mostly leather, soft but structured at the same time. This might be why I haven’t found ‘the one’ yet – I’m ridiculously picky!

Splurge Worthy Tote Bags

Faux Leather Cross Body Tote (on sale $25) – Shown here in a lovely Teal shade, this faux leather tote would make a great work bag. It’s a nice size at 15″L x 5″W x 17″H, so it will hold files, folders and whatever else you might need for a day at the office. If teal is not your shade it’s also available in black and chinchilla (tan). The long cross body strap is a nice touch when you need your hands free.

Faux Leather Satchel (on sale $30) – Although this reminds me of a Marc Jacobs style, this is a good alternative if you don’t want to drop the big bucks. The colour, Bougainvillea, is perfect for fall but it’s also available in black, gold, chinchilla (tan) and teal as well.

You can’t beat the price of these either! At $1.50 each you can get a slew of them an give them out as gifts as well.  I’m actually planning to get a couple of these to put into my nieces and nephews stocking so they can easily stash all their candy and such.

These Forever 21 reusable totes are pretty sturdy as well and hold two gallons of milk if need be (although I wouldn’t recommend doing that unless you want to break your arm off or throw your back!). Pick them up at any Forever 21 store (they’re usually by the checkout counters) or order them right off the website.

Fun & Functional Forever 21 Reusable Totes

One of the newest bags added to their selection is this chic Deena & Ozzy tote.

The Deena & Ozzy Chain Tote ($58) is a cool colour block style bag that would work very well to take to school or use as a bag for the office. It’s an oversized tote measuring 19″L, 3.25″W, 16.5″H, perfect to stow away those files, folders and books or even to use as an every day bag.

The tote is made out of canvas and pleater with cool antiqued hardware and a chin link strap. There are zipper details on the front and back and the interior is fabric lined with ample pockets to keep you organized. There’s also a removable shoulder strap for easy carrying.

The Deena & Ozzy Chain Tote also available in a few other colour combinations like blue/black, teal/black, grey/black and plum/black. Oh so shiny! I love patent leather anything. Well, maybe not from head to toe, but I do have several pairs of patent leather heels and when I do need to wear heels I will choose the patent leather heels over the matte heels anyway. So, it’s no wonder I would choose (or recommend) this brown patent leather tote from Jimmy Choo either. It has suede trim with moleskin lining with zip, patch pockets and amazing design details from top to bottom. It measures 14½’ inches at wide by 9¼ inches’ tall at the center by 7½” deep.
