Christian Audiger is a household name today, the name behind the intricate and bold designs of Ed Hardy is all over TV and even the paparazzi scene.  But, in the early 2000s if you had said Christian Audiger and Von Dutch in the same sentence to a middle American teenager or young adult you may have gotten a blank stare and a tip of their trucker hat.
