Brow Powder Brush — this helps define the shape of your brow when you apply it along the recently tweezed curve or natural contour of your brow.

This Jemma Kidd Essential Tweezers have ergonomically finger grip and angled pincers for easy handle and gripping the tiniest hair without pinching the skin. Don’t you just hate it when you pinch the skin because there is that 1 (or two hairs) that just refuse to be picked? I can almost feel it.
So if you experience those days a lot, give Jemma Kidd Essential Tweezers a try. It would be nice not to walk around with no reddened skin, know what I mean? The pink case is not too shabby either. It’s $25 from Nordstrom.

I remember a few months ago that I’ve purchased my first ever pair of Tweezerman tweezers – in pink!
I remember a few months ago that I’ve purchased my first ever pair of Tweezerman tweezers – in pink! I’ve been intrigued on how it is held at a high pedestal and considered such a legend. I’ve long denied myself this brand thinking that I can make do with less expensive counterparts, and just now, as I had some extra money to shell, I decided , once and for all, to try it and see for myself if it’s newfound awe and affirmation that Tweezerman is indeed a legend, or just a plain whine that it’s simply overrated and overpriced. Well, here are my pros and cons.

I’d like to start with the con

–It’s expensive. $25.00. Okay. It took me a while to convince myself to give this a shot. For the record, my past tweezers were Revlon ( priced at $5 – $ 6 ) that fared well on me actually, and LaCross ( priced at $10 ) that I considered not so good because it wore down quite easily, and did not do a great job in plucking stubborn brow hair.

Why just one con? It’s because I love my Tweezerman to pieces just about now! Why?

Pros ( with an “s”)

- It’s pink. Well, it’s in my favorite color ( I don’t know if this is really counted hahaha )

- The built is sturdy. The material of the tweezer is not the type that could be just thrown away easily because it’s as light as the usual tweezers. I’m not saying it’s boulderrific, though!

- Here’s the most important part – it can pluck stray brow hair quite effectively, even the most stubborn ones and really short ones that I don’t normally get to get rid off with my past tweezers. No need for “shaving” when they’re too short just to make them look nonexistent. I was actually in awe as I tried doing this ( trying to pluck really short, and I mean short stray hair ) , because I thought it wouldn’t be plucked off. I felt like a little kid being spoiled ( like pointing – ” I want this! ” then I just get what I want. Sounds really cheesy, but the beauty geek in me felt that way. Seriously. ). Eyebrow grooming will never be the same with me. I swear.

- It’s very sharp. Well, it is the first thing I’d notice about tweezers and most of them usually are like this. I’m glad that there’s a lifetime guarantee that my Tweezerman tweezers can be sharpened anytime!

Lately, it’s just Tweezerman that I’ve been reaching for and I’ve been guarding it with my life. I know I’m a klutz and I tend to lose things most of the time, but I think I should practice being careful with Tweezerman because it’s expensive and well, I don’t think I want to lose it anytime soon because I will not be able to find a replacement for it this quick, for sure! So, would I recommend Tweezerman to you? I’d say this with all pride and giddiness, YES. Every girl ( or boy, who love shaping their brows ) must have one!

For those who want to whip up their tweezers and try to groom their brows on their own, here’s a great tutorial from Michelle Phan ( whom, I think, comes up with amazingly helpful beauty videos ).

I like this tutorial in particular because it is pretty simple, and demonstrates via video what books have been illustrating. In my opinion, this video made it easier for me to better understand those countless books and instructions that I’ve read about eyebrow grooming.

The result of her brows are great. Well-groomed brows, and definitely not too thin. I cannot stress the importance of not overplucking for it’d be real hard being dependent on the eyebrow pencil for temporary filling until hair grows back.

I just noticed that Michelle plucked her eyebrows in such speed that I think, is twice as fast as how I usually do it. Well, the white pencil really helped!

To end, I’d like to share a tip with you. Make sure you do your eyebrow grooming right after taking a shower for the skin’s still soft and pores are open – grooming would be easier, as the hair gets plucked quite easily. Also avoid grooming your brows during your monthly period as it would be more painful that time. Do you have other eyebrow grooming tips? I’d love to hear from you!

Last December, there was someone who inspired me to groom my brows and actually focus on them heavily. I remember her saying,“You’re in the beauty business, you MUST have beautifully groomed brows. Your brows are flat, you need to make an arch to give it a “flirty look.”
That moment, I started cursing the person who threaded my brows. (So, it was his fault my lovelife’s gone awry. HAHA, I’m kidding.).

That night, I made an arch, and I’m sure it made all the difference. From that moment on, I swore to take care of my brows, remove stray hair every two days ( since my brows grow at such a fast rate it’s crazy ), and keep it groomed at all costs.

I’m currently eyeing this AMAZING Tweezerman Brow Solutions Set. It must be the ultimate brow grooming set there is,

Set includes a Stainless Steel Slant Tweezer (perfectly aligned, hand finished tips that grab even the most stubborn hair, every time), After Tweeze Soothing Cream (calms post-tweezing sting), Spiral Brow Brush in a Retractable Case (for grooming brows into the perfect shape), Brow Powder in retractable Case (the ultimate tool for applying your favorite brow powder), and BrowMousse (a clear, lightweight gel that keeps brows beautifully defined all day).

First of all, I bow to Tweezerman for having the best tweezers around, and having a lifetime warranty for the tweezers. I also love the add on items such as the soothing cream to calm my poor skin after the tweezing, the spiral brow brush – a new discovery of mine, that can “comb” the brows in perfect condition, as well as the brow mousse that works like “gel” for eyebrows, and brow powder to fill in awkward gaps. This is a great set that would make sure that the brows will be beautiful from day to night, invoking magic on the facial area. Yes, I believe that well-groomed brows brighten the face drastically. I remember the day when I had my brows first groomed ( junior high? ). I was STUNNED.

Lastly, for $50, it’s quite a steal. One Tweezerman tweezer costs $25 already, and just add $25, you get all of those bundled already. The retail price if sold separately’s $71.

This is a limited edition set, so grab your set as long as it’s still being offered!

When I posted about La Tweez Illuminating Tweezers, I was ready to pay the price of light and precise tweezing for the ultimate eyebrow care. I think it costs about a little above twenty dollars, and I see this in my beauty blogging girlfriend Phoebe’s site. A clone, a clone! And it costs only about two to three dollars here. Woah!

This would be perfect for the ever clumsy me who tends to lose things in a snap, I could like buy three and just leave them inside different bags! Teehee
But then, I just hope that the tweezers are sharp enough! [...]
Post from: Splendicity. Check out our new community features!
