However, I don’t know if I would be able to be seen with Mr. Valentino with this scarf around his neck today. Purple and gold was a good color combination as a middle school athlete. I had to wear it to my volleyball and basketball games but, as an A-list celebrity fashion designer this look is a bit questionable.

I do not doubt that this scarf is amazing, pricey, and luxurious…but the almost Indian look paired with an almost business casual suit just is not a good look.  But, then again, he is Valentino and he can do almost anything. Maybe I should just be quiet.

Kat Von D Saint ($55) – Is she the innocent type? This scent is a blend of mandarin and plums with dashes of caramel, exotic florals, vanilla and musk.
Kat Von D Sinner ($55) – Or is she a little more dangerous? This scent is similar to Saint but it has deep spicy notes of cinnamon, patchouli, vanilla and woods.
Pucci Vivara Black Edition ($80) – This fragrance is perfect for a cocktails or a hot date. Bergamot, amaretto and florals are blended with vetiver, patchouli and narcissus flower to give this scent an intense vibe.
Versace Versense ($85) – Mandarin, pears and florals are paired with cedarwood, olive tree and musk in this new fragrance for fall.
Michael Kors Very Hollywood ($85) – Mandarin, vetiver and gardenias are blended together to create this new scent that is sexy, glamorous and sophisticated.
Valentino Gold ($55) – A floral oriental scent that has notes of mandarin, lime, cinnamon and cranberries. Wear this when you feel like a million bucks.

For Him:

Lacoste Challenge ($80) – A woody scent for him with  lemons, orange, lavender and redwood.
Boss Hugo Boss Hugo Element ($65) – This scent is for the guy who is confident and sophisticated. It has notes of ginger, cedarwood and coriander.
Guerlain Homme ($80) – A musky scent with floral and woods for the guy who wants something masculine yet fresh.
Ermenegildo Zegna Zegna Colonia ($70) – A seductive woodsy scent for him that has notes of bergamot, iris, violet, cedar and musk.
Givenchy Play Intense ($76) – A deeper woodsy scent with mandarins, coffee, pepper and patchouli.
True Religion For Men ($79) – A masculine scent that is perfect for the guy who wants to command attention. It’s another woodsy scent that has touches of verbena, juniper berry, patchouli and sandalwood.

Some of these new scents would make great transitional fragrances to wear for fall.  They’re available at Sephora or department stores near you. Pick them up for yourself or someone you love.

I’m a bit disappointed that bags by Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Botkier, Dior and Miu Miu didn’t make the list!  I do respect this selection because each bag is stylish and has details to make it stand out from the rest.  Although most of these bags are pretty expensive and quite dramatic, like the over $3K red Fendi and the Bottega Veneta, they’re still wearable, only if your outfit is sleek and simple. In other words, let your bag do all the talking! The other bags on the list lean towards the classic side and would make worthy investments.

If it were me and these were my only choices, I’d choose the Gucci Icon Bit Shoulder Bag. It’s simple enough to use every day but stylish enough to not get boring.

Bergdorf Goodman’s Top 10 Bags

It’s got a fine rib detailling and a deep lace trim – not something you’d normally find on a cashmere shawl!

Generally, cashmere shawls and wraps come finished with a plain, sewn edge or a twisted fringe.  I love the feminity and dramatic quality that the lace adds.  This is not your standard, curl up on the couch wrap.  This one is for making an impression!
