What do you think of this unique “babushka” style hat by Tokyo designer Valeur? Again, I am super excited about discovering transformer styles that offer multiple uses for one piece. This ultra soft handmade lacy knit triangular piece wraps beautifully around the head or can be worn around the neck as a short knit stole. I think we can thank the recession for inspiring designers to create versatile pieces that have more than one function. I am absolutely loving all of the “transformer” styles that have been popping up everywhere lately. Every category of clothing is coming up with a design that is “this slash that” so we can buy one piece and use it in a multitude of ways. Some popular takes on this idea that I have seen are a wrap dress becomes a halter dress or a bandeau dress and a scarf that becomes a hood.
