I’m thrilled to be getting married this summer, and of course, wanted to do something a little different for my bridesmaids.  Instead of going with the traditional “everyone in the same dress”, I asked my bridesmaids to choose their own dress patterns.  Everyone will have the same fabric for the dresses and I found some gorgeous sheer printed organza to make shawls out of.

Actually, if you haunt thrift stores, you can sometimes find some amazing vintage pieces. And just think of the stories some of those finds could tell.
If we had the time, it would be great to track down pieces to who originally owned them. At some point, stuff that Jessica Simpson is wearing could very likely find their way into these stores. Who knows, at the moment, dresses worn by Marilyn Monroe could be floating around! What a hobby that would be.
