The Dancer Boot by Illex Kinni

I totally just heard of this designer, Illex Kinney the other day on Gnarlitude, one of my top ten fave blogs. These wedges are basically perfect. Check it.
I love the way the asymmetrical laces gather the leather so that it looks rouched. Umm, and the fact that these babies look like a solid four inches of fun. The almond-shaped toe is spot on and walkable. Wear with everything. Available for $250 from Bona Drag.

Wedges, my friends, are not going anywhere. They’ve had a good three years on the fashion front, but their popularity shows no signs of abating, and given the total awesomeness of some of the new fall wedges, I really don’t want them to go away, anyhow. Check out this t-strap/penny loafer/patent wedge hybrid:
These are a little bit hip to be square, and a little bit goth. I love the side cut outs, with the straps and buckles, and subtle contrast between the grain leather wedge and patent upper. These babies will look great with all the crisp trousers and slouchy …read more
Satin & Swarovski Wedges by Aruna Seth

I used to be really dismissive towards Swarovski-encrusted items. Until this winter, when I visited the Swarovski store in Rockefeller Center, and saw all the crazy, ornate, and fabulous things that can be made out of the famous Austrian crystals. So, forget every gaudy crystal encrusted cell phone you’ve seen some socialite bimbo carrying, and try to look at these shoes with fresh eyes.
Bling bang boom. Wow. These are some serious bridal shoes. And while I am not always a fan of the heavily adorned, I think that these Aruna Seth Cerise wedges are elegant and sculptural. And a wedge, …read more
Leopard Print Wedges for the Real World

If you would like to wear a pair of leopard-print wedges that don’t make you think of prehistoric costumes, there are options.
Steve Madden makes a wooden heel wedge with a faux-patent upper that might fit the bill:
The “Avenew” is a lot more wearable and a heck of a lot more versatile than the previous shoe I featured.
If you’d still like your leopard print to be by Giuseppe Zanotti, this peep-toe pump with a hidden platform is a much more stylish option:

Prada Cork Wedge Slide

Wedges have a small place in my heart. In Texas, the ground can either be rock hard or as soft as a baby’s bottom. Where I live, the ground is as soft as a baby’s butt. So, on those very rare occasions that I have to get dressed up and wear heels, wedges are sometimes become a viable alternative. I’d rather not dig a hole to the center of the Earth. It wouldn’t be safe for the children.
Wedges, of course, come in at all different price points. However, if you’re looking for that luxury piece of cork wedge heaven, may …read more
Wonderful Wicker Accessories

Most people think of lawn furniture or rickety old laundry baskets when you say “wicker”…
But wicker is coming back and designers are using it in some really interesting ways. I think that these wicker shoes are just fantastic – but they are covered with a natural fiber, so keep them away from the dogs!
Stuart Weitzman makes several shoes with wicker accents, check out the “Wickers“ casual flat wedge, accented with patent leather:
Prefer a higher heel? The “Bamada” adds some serious sex appeal with it’s peep toes and slingback:
How about a classic wedge? The “Wicker” by Matisse is accented with a …read more

I’d like to wish all of my lovely readers from the USA a Happy 4th of July!
And, if you feel the need for a suitably patriotic-ly colored shoe, may I suggest the “Volatile” peep-toe wedge by Alexis?

It’s printed fabric uppers in red, white & blue can express your spirit, without going over the top…
What’s over the top (at least in my opinion)?
Eeek!

Now that you have a cute new rust colored clutch, you need shoes to match!
May I suggest the “Idle” by Nine West?
Or if you want to go with a heel, how about the “Alita” by Two Lips?
I think the vintage style of the Alita would complement the clutch purse quite nicely
