2 Things You Can Do to Pamper Your Eyes

Last week we got a new puppy. At the same time my son developed a stomach virus. Between a sick little boy and an 11-week-old puppy, I was up a lot. By Friday I was a cranky, tired mess. My eyes were so swollen and red from my lack of good sleep it looked like I went on an all night bender. If you’re experiencing tired, puffy eyes, try these pampering tips.
1. Cucumber slices – Yes the cucumber slices over the eyes really work. I put on some soft music and lay down on the couch with cucumber slices over my eyes a couple of times while my son was in school. The only problem was I was so soothed I fell asleep and nearly missed the school bus drop off.
2. Chamomile tea compresses – Here’s a recipe for chamomile tea compresses that rival that of a spa! The tannins in tea help to reduce the swelling while chamomile is a great soother.
No one knows more than me how hard it is to take time out for you. Especially when you have to work and watch kids. Five minutes a day is doable for most people and all it takes for a little eye pampering. Who knows? Soon cucumbers or tea bags might become a permanent part of your ritual!
