5 sunburn home remedies

Ok, so it’s only April and we’re not really getting maximum sunnage right now. Even so, many of us are about to start spending lots of time in our gardens. Now, I try to remember to wear a hat and cover up if I’m working out in the sun, but occasionally I forget and get a little burned. Thankfully there are some home sunburn remedies to help soothe what ails me.

  1. Vinegar – Soak a cloth in vinegar and water and use to soothe sunburn.
  2. Tea – Buy several giant tea bags and steep in tub of cool water. Soak for as long as you like while the tannins soothe your burn.
  3. Aloe Vera – Really all you need are a few leaves. Rub the oils on your sunburn and it will soothe and heal.
  4. Milk – Soak a cloth in milk and apply to the affected area. It will cook and soothe.
  5. Potatoes – Cut a potato in half and rub on a swollen sunburn. It won’t take the pain away but it will make the swelling go down.
