Please forgive the lull in posts. I hope this weekend’s marathon will more than make up for my time in the sun.

As you know, May is skin cancer awareness month. I’m not going to lecture you again on the importance of protecting your skin from the sun, but I would like to share a couple of very cool products to help you with that task. Nowadays, there are so many products offering UV protection, there’s really no reason for anyone to experience any kind of skin damage due to time spent in the sun. Check out a few very cool products offering protection from the sun’s harmful rays:

Bethesday sunscreen soap

1. Bethesda Sunscreen Soap – This is just such a great idea. It’s a SPF 10 body bar providing you with sunscreen protection that won’t wash off. It’s a nice product – hypoallergenic, not greasy and smells pretty good too. If that doesn’t convince you, let me tell you a little about the ingredients: Bethesda uses All One® Multi-vitamins, providing Bethesda Sunscreen Soap with 50 + vitamins and minerals to give skin a radiant and healthy glow.  All soaps contain four basic ingredients, what they call the “Power Four.”  Whole leaf Aloe-Vera gel, healing balm of Gilead, glycerin, and chlorophyll are the powers behind the “Power Four.”  They’re anti-inflammatory, hygroscopic, immune boosting, and moisturizing.

Enough with the technical details, how does it feel on my skin? Not bad. My skin felt softer after using it than most soap bars – and didn’t feel overly tight. I did use moisturizer after washing anyway though because my skin gets very dry anyway. You can purchase the soap at the Bethesda Skincare website and it should be hitting the stores sometime this year.

soleil chic umbrella

2. The Soleil Chic Sun Umbrella – This adorable umbrella keeps the sun away on those bright days. It’s compact very lightweight, compact enough to fit in your purse and comes with it’s own little carrying case. Mine is yellow but it also comes in blue and red. The other day I hung it over my chair while I worked out on the back deck and not only did it shade me from the sun, but it also eliminated that sun glare you get that prevents you from being able to see your computer screen.

You can purchase the Soleil Chic Sun Umbrella and the equally adorable Soleil Chic sun hat at the Soleil Chic website.
