I’m currently trying very hard to maintain my budget, be careful with my pennies, and work with what I’ve got. Resisting the urge to shop my way through the mall, picking up pretty new purchases everywhere I go, is not easy…but it must be done and I do feel better for it. Kind of.
So, instead of being drawn into Sephora, where I will surely load up a basket with all kinds of new items to take home and try out, I’m browsing online – with credit cards safely stowed in the other room. There are a number of new products …read more

I’m not typically a coupon clipper. I know that you can save a bundle, but so many times the coupon isn’t for what I use or need. I keep my eye out though, and every once in awhile there’s one that offers me a real value.
Here are two that I plan on using – and maybe you will too!
From DSW, one of my favorite shoe stores for fashion and value, is a $10 off coupon on any purchase over $50. And any gal worth her salt can spend over $50 at a shoe store! The coupon is valid online …read more

Since foundation is a necessary part of my makeup routine, I was at first annoyed that I hadn’t noticed this sooner. But then I realized that somewhere about 3/4 of the way through this brand of foundation, I really didn’t like it anymore at all. Something about it was just a bit too heavy, didn’t go on smoothly and the color wasn’t quite “right” anymore. Annoying, yes…but this also meant I had the perfect chance to find something new.
Here are the ten things I recommend …read more

Gift cards make an enjoyable gift, and I think they come with double excitement value – the excitement of receiving the gift card, and a second round of excitement when you make your selections. (Of course, if you order online, you get a third round of excitement when your delivery arrives!)
That’s a whole lot of value out of a simple gift card purchase!
I love thinking about how I’d spend huge sums of money at all my favorite stores if I had a gift card worth thousands of dollars. It’s a tougher decision, however, if the gift card is …read more

Winter is almost over! Can’t you feel it?
Okay…maybe I’m jumping ahead of myself here. But you can never be too prepared for what trends Spring will bring. This year, colorful berry and sorbet colored eye shadows will be a big hit. After reading the essentials that Rachel keeps in her purse, I dug into mine to see what I could find.
I switch purse an awful lot, and sometimes only have a coin purse-sized wristlet in the evening. But when I have a true bag, these are the 5 essential items that you’ll find in it:
Key ring. Practical, I know, but I’ve got to have my keys wherever I go. I have a beautiful engraved custom key ring from Tiffany’s (something like this airplane and globe key ring), and there are only two keys on it so it doesn’t take up …read more
