I’ve been thinking a lot about basics lately.  It’s mostly because I’ve been shopping for a few new items for my fall wardrobe, but even more importantly, I’ve been  looking through my closet to see how I can mix and match new items with what I already have.

Red, white, and blue are traditional summer colors, and the 4th of July is a fitting time to sport some new patriotic style.
Let’s start with wearing red:

A shiny red lip gloss, Bad Education, in a not-too-stick formula from Nars

What to Wear to a White Beach Party

I have a summer party coming up, and it’s presenting a bit of difficulty in deciding what I should wear.
It’s a beach party, in a warm weather destination, that will be held at a rather upscale beach resort.  The activities will span from the pool area, to exterior patios, and down onto the beach.  And probably into the water.  Throw in that it’s a quasi-business situation, and the invitations says please wear WHITE, and my closet is turning up a big nothing.
