Why I Liked Confessions of a Shopaholic

I had the chance to watch the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic on my last flight.  This isn’t a movie that’s going to change the world, and it doesn’t pretend to be.  It’s just light-hearted and fun, so don’t take it all too seriously.

Confessions of a Shopaholic Here’s why I enjoyed it:

  1. I adored the book!  And while the movie was a bit different, of course, it was still a great chick flick.
  2. You’ve got to root for anyone who gets a journalism job at a magazine right out of university.
  3. Who doesn’t dream of waltzing right into any store and making any purchase that you fall in love with?
  4. Shopping is an addiction, but the movie deals with it in a soft way.
  5. Clothes. . . shopping. . . and more clothes and more shopping.
  6. While there is no incredible romantic chemistry between Rebecca and Luke, there’s still a feeling that there could be something special.
  7. Come on, be honest – haven’t we all wanted to just ignore a bill when it came due.

Have you seen the movie?  What did you think?
