Circe Silk Dress by Roland Moret

I love the short, trumpet shape of the skirt, and the ruffles at the bottom give it just exactly the right amount of sass. The netting gives great volume to the look, which overall, is sleek and elegant. I’m always crazy for a strapless dress, and this one has super flattering gathers. But the flower appliqué is kind of killing it for me. It’s a little too, I don’t know, big, maybe? It just distracts from the simplicity of the neckline, I think. It does add an interesting asymmetry, but I’m not sure that every girl needs a bunch of petals right on her breast. On the other hand, Isha would look spectacular in the dress on the whole, so if she decides to go for it, I’m just going to have to trim that bud down a little. Available for $398 from Nordstrom.

Strapless Appliqué Dress by BCBG Max Azria

I also enjoyed the Justin Brandon collection. I love the different looks, from the elegant shimmer of the Signature collection, to the curve hugging perfection of the Pure line (these gowns would be perfect for a destination wedding).

Mori Lee is 3rd on my list of favorite Spring Bridal Collections. Mori Lee gowns are always in my favorites list. I love the lace up backs, and the shimmery fabrics Madeline Gardner features in this line.

The Oscar De La Renta spring gowns are also fabulous! I really enjoy the retro feel of these gowns, and I think brides will too.

Rounding out my top 5 is Kenneth Pool. I love the dramatic look of the ball gowns in this collection.

I can’t wait to see what fall 2010, and spring 2011 bring from all of these fabulous designers.

5 Spring Collections To Start 2010

Here are some of the trends I’ve spotted in the spring collections I’ve featured over the last week or so.

• Most of the collections featured at least one mini dress. Whether these mini gowns will be worn for the wedding ceremony, or the brides will ditch the elaborate wedding gown for a mini for their reception, I would say mini wedding gowns are back in a big way for 2010.
• It’s all in the details for 2010. Many of the collections had fabulous details on their wedding gowns, from crystal accents to hand-painted flowers. I love all the beautiful details available to set you apart on your wedding day.
• Sexy, form fitting gowns with beautiful flow were prominent in most of the collections.
• For the princesses out there, most of the designers still feature some beautiful ballroom wedding gowns to make sure you can be the star of your own fairytale.

What Will Wedding Gown Trends Bring~2010?

These gowns have a beautiful European-Spanish flair. These beautiful gowns, like many of the other gowns we’ve been featuring here, have a classic style with a contemporary touch.

I love the bead work on the gowns, and the fabric flowers and petals are a fabulous detail. One of my favorites is the sunflower gown.

The Renoir gown is also one of my favorites. I love the front details on the gown. Make sure you check out the Monet, all the flowers on the gown are hand painted! The layers make the gown look like it’s floating.

Spring 2010 Wedding Gowns~Carolina Herrera

First up the Justin Alexander Signature collection. These gowns are all very fluid and elegant, with beautiful Italian shimmery fabrics.

Most of the gowns in the collection feature georgeous crystal and embroidered accents on the bodice, and long flowing shimmery trains.

Next up check out the Justin Alexander Pure Collection for spring 2010. This collection features very fluid close fitting layers, some shorter length gowns, and interesting necklines. These gowns would be beautiful for a destination wedding, or for a bride looking for something a little different than the standard wedding gown.

Here’s one more Justin Alexander collection featuring more traditional gowns with a modern twist.

Several of these gowns feature a little color in the gown itself, or in the accents. I love the gown with the wide angled sash, and check out the feathered gown about two minutes in.

Spring 2010 Wedding Gowns~ Justin Alexander

Many of the wedding gowns in the Kenneth Pool collection are very dramatic, and wonderful for the bride that wants to stand out in a good way on her wedding day. They’re similar to some of the other designers with some of  their designs featuring layered ball gowns and others with form fitting, clean sleek lines.

Many of the Kenneth Pool gowns feature silver accents and beautiful elegant embroidery.

My favorite is the fan dress. I love the ribbon tulle, and the georgous details of the silver embroidery with a touch of crystal featured on this dress.

I love how each designer puts their own stamp on the styles, but there are similarities in all the collections we’ve featured so far.

Spring 2010 Wedding Gowns: Kenneth Pool

If you want your shopping experience to match up to the expectation you should take a few steps to make sure everything goes as planned while you’re shopping for your perfect wedding dress.

• Take along people who’s opinion you trust and value. Don’t be afraid to ask them for their honest opinion.
• Take your camera along and have someone take a picture of you in the dress. Then you can take a look at yourself later (out of the moment) in the dress to see if you still love it. Always ask ahead of time, some shops won’t let you take pictures.
• Plan to give yourself plenty of time to find the perfect dress. It may be the first dress you try on, but you may have to try on several at several different stores before you find the perfect gown.
• Consider your budget, and stay in that range for the dresses you try on. You don’t want to fall in love with a wedding gown that’s out of your price range.

The most important thing is to enjoy the process. It’s a part of your wedding experience, so make your wedding gown selection process something fun that you’ll remember fondly.

Wedding Gown Shopping Tips

The Oscar De La Renta collection is very whimsical and retro in it’s feel. With lines that remind you of years gone by, with a modern twist.

Many of the dresses in the collection feature long fitted lines, and interesting neck lines. There are also several dresses with dreamy layers and overlays, and even a couple shorter dresses.
